Hello to everyone in the Marker Friday community! Today I bring you an article dedicated to the Periferico market in Valencia, a great market for food, fruits, herbs, natural remedies, vegetables, various items, household items and much more. This place has been active for several decades in greater Valencia and is known for the quality and prices of its products, for which it has earned a good reputation among buyers. Here I will tell you a little about what you can find, the days they work and this visit I made with my mom. Let's start with it!

The Periférico market is located in the southern area of Valencia, specifically, in the parish of Miguel Peña. My mother lives relatively close and since it was a Saturday, we decided to go there to buy some things for lunch. What you see in the first pictures is the building in question called Periférico de Valencia, but also the surroundings of the place are known by that name because there are street vendors and several shops that answer for it. It is a way to get around more quickly.

Weekends are the busiest days in the market. As you can imagine, it is the time when most people go to the nearest market for groceries and the crowds are not long in coming. Among several photographic shots, some vendors approached to pose with pride and joy next to their business premises. An example of this is Mariíta, a woman who has been in the business for years and in fact has visited several countries (she tells me with great emotion) and explains her experience and knowledge. She sells vegetables, vegetables and fruits, as well as various food products.

We also met Fatima, a friend of my mother's who also owns a shop in the market. She asked me not to take pictures of her as she doesn't like them. However, you can see some of the things she sells such as the famous chiguire, very typical here in Venezuela. And I must say that most of them were very receptive to the pictures because they put their best pose and smile. Something that gave me a lot of joy to see because it had been a while since I had been here.

We also found that some vendors were selling the condiments, ingredients and banana leaves needed for the Venezuelan hallacas. A very exciting moment since we are close to the month of December where most Venezuelans make hallacas to celebrate on that date. A family and precious activity. And if there is something I have always liked about the markets, it is the smells: the condiments, the medicinal herbs, the fruits, even the fish, the chiguire and the chicharrón. It is something familiar and always reminds me of my grandmother and my mother.

Without more to say friends, I leave you with some pictures for you to judge on your own. I don't want to say goodbye without thanking you for stopping by and interacting with my blog. I send you a big hug and see you next time!

¡Saludos y feliz domingo!

I agree with you! The markets smell heavenly especially as you stroll through and the smells mingle with one another. What a nice market and fresh food.

I love making the Holiday special with the family by making food together, especially one that is traditional. I love when the vendors smile for the camera~ It certainly makes my day. How sweet that one of them posed for you. :) A great Market.

Please read the guidelines to #MarketFriday which I included at the bottom of the post.

I think it is important that you know how much I appreciate the time and effort put into posts. Thank you for your participating in #MarketFriday! I enjoy learning about your world and how it is to live in it. I find it interesting to compare standards, but, more than standards, by how we find the quality of our life with different indicators that the world does. It is not always about the wealth in money, but includes many other things including being as healthy as possible, being educated, but, not necessarily in school. I feel like a person is educated if they aquire knowledge and use it for the better good and happiness of the society they are living in. It is with great pleasure that I read through this and all of the posts, with these thoughts in mind.

I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to get to know you and your piece of the world just a little bit better. I have learned so much about the different cultures of the world, I especially love the small things in life and make a point to give them notice. Life has been interesting for me this week, and I hope your week has found you happy and healthy, as we all look to prosper in our way of life.

I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world. Please take the time to read a couple #MarketFriday posts and leave a genuine comment behind. It is important to interact within the community, allowing for others to bond with each other. The fun is in getting to know people and making a positive contribution to community life. I am pretty sure that is why I joined Hive. All this fun and money too. What if not to love?

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service. It can be a movie, an auction, or even a museum. Wherever money is exchanged for a service or product.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? Was it expensive? Did it go up or down? A scroll of pictures with few words doesn't usually work.
  3. Post the pictures. Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post, it is too difficult to guess about some.
  4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post (#hive-196308) This is not required but appreciated.
PLEASE Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it!!
  5. Following me and reblogging the post would be appreciated, but not a rule, more vision for more views on the #MarketFriday posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post.

As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!

Big greetings to you! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond so eloquently and in such detail about my post. I agree with you, it is beautiful to visit these places not only for the acquisition of new foods and products but also for the social interaction with others, the dishes we will be able to cook for others and how happy the faces of the vendors look when making a purchase in their stores.

I also think it is very nice what you say, education should be a job that seeks to make the world a better place. It is not about boasting about what you know, but about teaching others and doing it with all your heart.

Now I understand the rules and the contest on Friday. It had been hard for me to understand a little about it and of course to be more involved in the community. I send you a big hug and thank you again for your commitment.
