Jueves de TBT: el antiguo coro del Teatro Municipal de Valencia [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Top Family community. Today I’m stopping by to share with you all on another TBT Thursday. I’ll leave the link at the end of this post for anyone who wants to participate, even though the contest is about to end. Let’s continue.
Today I’m sharing some photos from around 2015, when I was still in college and living in my beloved Valencia. It was there that I was part of the Valencia Municipal Theater Choir. To be honest, it’s a little baffling because I don’t remember exactly how I ended up there—as I try to recall, I can’t remember if it was through an ad, a friend, or on my own. What’s certain is that I ended up in the choir, and it was a brief but memorable time. The conductor was Maestro Ángel Linares, who was a very charismatic man; he loved to read, was quite spiritual, and, of course, demanding as both a musician and a conductor.

El día de hoy les traigo algunas imágenes que pertenecen alrededor del año 2015, cuando todavía me encontraba estudiando en la universidad y vivía en mi amada Valencia. Allí, justamente, estuve siendo parte del Coro del Teatro Municipal de Valencia. La verdad es que es un poco desconcertante porque no recuerdo exactamente cómo fue que llegué allí, pues haciendo memoria no recuerdo si fue a través de un anuncio, un amigo o por mi cuenta, lo cierto del caso de s que terminé dentro del coro y fue un breve pero memorable momento. El director era el maestro Ángel Linares, quién era alguien muy carismático, gustaba de leer, bastante espiritual y por supuesto, exigente cómo músico y director.
I remember that around that time we went on a beautiful tour throughout Valencia, giving concerts at some of our favorite venues, like the cathedrals and churches there. Well, the photo you’re seeing here was taken between November and December, and that’s when we put together our entire Christmas music repertoire. I think all the choir members would agree that Christmas is when we work the hardest, hahaha, so that day we were at the Church of San Blas. There I am next to the conductor, Ángel, and also next to my friend Estefania, who not only loves to sing but does it very well. It’s nice to look back at these photos and remember how far we’ve come. The theater choir disbanded after a while, so right now I don’t know if it’s still active. Yo recuerdo que para ese tiempo hicimos un recorrido muy bello por toda Valencia ofreciendo conciertos en algunos de los lugares favoritos, cómo las catedrales e iglesias de Valencia. Bueno, para ese momento de la fotografía que están viendo aquí era entre noviembre y diciembre y para ese momento del año se arma todo el repertorio de música navideña. Yo creo que todos los coralistas estarán de acuerdo en admitir que en Navidad es donde más se trabaja jajaja así que ese día estuvimos en la iglesia de San Blas. Allí estoy junto al director Ángel y también junto a mi amiga Estefania quién no solo ama cantar sino que lo hace muy bien. Es bueno volver al pasado para ver estás imágenes y recordar cuánto se ha recorrido. El coro del teatro se disolvió luego de cierto tiempo, así que ahora mismo no sé si sigue activo.
