Exposición de Joe Orive: Geometría Emocional - Vibración, color y diseño 🟢🔵🔴 [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m stopping by to share a new chapter in my life with you. This time, I’m sharing my visit to Joe Orive’s solo exhibition at Loyola College, specifically in the Loyola building where the Manresa Gallery is located. You can visit the venue from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM to see everything this young visual artist and architect has to show us. I’m sharing some photos so you can see a few of the pieces on display. I want to clarify that I made this visit in March, so as of the date of this post, the exhibition should still be available, but to be sure, please check the official websites. Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta ocasión les comparto mi visita a la exposición individual de Joe Orive en el Colegio Loyola, específicamente, en el edificio Loyola dónde está ubicada la Sala Manresa. Allí desde las 8:00 am a 4:00 pm, podrás visitar el lugar y conocer todo lo que esté joven artista plástico y arquitecto, tiene para mostrarnos. Les dejo las imágenes para que puedan ver algunas de las piezas que están exhibidas. Quiero aclarar que está visita la hice en el mes de marzo, por lo cual, a la fecha de esta publicación debería de una estar disponible, pero para mayor seguridad por favor visitar las página oficiales. The exhibition consists of several pieces. Joe creates contemporary sculptures with the spirit of installations, featuring pieces that seek to take over spaces. There is a noticeable inclination toward industrial design and interior design, which likely stems from his passion for architecture. Hence, function and aesthetics are present in his work: I mention this also because in his preliminary pieces there is a study to create what appears to be a chair... perhaps that will come later. And this is closely related to the fact that he seems to enjoy the mathematical precision with which his pieces are composed, move, and flow from here to there. Well, the name of the exhibition is a statement. The pieces are made from MDF panels, laser-cut, then assembled and hand-painted. They are beautifully finished. He also plays with color, which is a very notable feature. Influences from kinetic artists such as Jesús Soto (with his installations and pieces that create vibrations) and Cruz Diez with his use of color, creating chromatic harmonies.
I enjoyed visiting the exhibition, so of course I invite you to check it out. This Thursday, April 9, at the same venue, the artist will be there to give a talk and discuss his work. Go see him. Without further ado, thank you very much for stopping by.
La exposición consta de varias piezas. Joe crea esculturas contemporáneas con alma de instalaciones, con piezas que desean apropiarse de los espacios. Se nota una inclinación por el diseño industrial y el diseño de interiores, que probablemente vienen de su pasión por la arquitectura. De allí que la función y la estética estén presentes en su trabajo: lo digo también porque en sus piezas preliminares hay un estudio para crear lo que parece ser una silla... quizá eso viene más a futuro. Y eso va estrechamente relacionado con el hecho de que parece gustar de la exactitud matemática con la que sus piezas se componen, mueven y fluyen de aquí para allá. Bueno, el nombre de la exposición es una afirmación. Las piezas están hechas a partir de paneles de MDF, cortadas con láser, luego ensambladas y pintadas a mano. Muy bellamente acabadas. También juega con el color, que es una característica bien notable. Influencias de artistas cinéticos cómo Jesús Soto (con sus instalaciones y piezas que crean vibraciones) y Cruz Diez con el uso del color, creando armonias cromáticas.
Me ha gustado visitar la exposición, así que por supuesto que los invito a verla. Este jueves 9 de abril, en el mismo lugar, estará presente el artista para brindar una charla y hablar de su trabajo. Vayan a verlo. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.

What an interesting and original exhibition, where the artist approaches mathematics and geometry with a sense of movement that brings them to life. The colours are vibrant and really stand out against the walls. If I’ve understood correctly, many of the pieces are made of wood and then covered in glossy paint, which makes them look metallic. I love it!
The finish is fabulous and creates pieces that would look great as decoration in a living room; I really enjoyed learning about the creative process, which starts with 3D models before the final piece is created. Thank you for bringing us this beautiful exhibition and for these photographs with so much movement and interesting angles. A big hug!🤗

Yo también pensé en su momento que las piezas eran de puro metal, pero trabaja tan bien la madera, que no aparenta su naturaleza. Gracias también por apreciar los detalles de las fotografías jajaja me divertí mucho visitando el lugar. Un abrazo.
