Expo-Feria de Habilidades y Talentos: El Taller de Dibujo 🌸💗🌟 [ENG/ESP]

Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m joining you here to share a new chapter in my life with you. This time, I’m sharing a memory of an activity we had at school about two or three weeks ago. I’d mentioned here on the platform that the kids had been working on their paintings and drawings to display at the “Skills and Talents Expo.” I hadn’t really had the right opportunity to talk about it yet, since it was such a special day and I wanted to discuss it as calmly as possible. So here we are. I didn’t want this experience to go unnoticed.
The event involves setting up booths where the children can display and sell their work: baked goods, crafts, drawings or paintings, their own creations, and so on. So it was an opportunity for them to demonstrate that it’s possible to make a living from art. Understanding that was an important goal, but so was for them to enjoy their own work (with or without sales)... as well as for others to admire and recognize their work. That’s something very beautiful, and although it may seem a bit superficial or vain, it’s necessary for them to experience it because sometimes people need to hear from others that what they do is, in fact, valuable, good, or useful. I always tell them this, so hearing it from Mom, Dad, friends, classmates, teachers, and others further reinforces that idea.

The day before the expo, I was with the representatives, working on setting up the entire booth. I’ve already talked about that, so the next day we were ready to go. We also hung a beautiful sign that one of the representatives had made. That little touch made our space even more beautiful. The kids found chairs to sit in, we took down the information for mobile payments and other details, and then it all began! The event began with Teacher Gabriela, who welcomed everyone, and then I followed with a few brief words to capture what the event meant. After the speech, we welcomed the children from different grade levels so they could visit each booth. By the way, they sold cookies, cupcakes, candy, gummy candies, drawings and paintings, accessories, toys, and even homemade bleach!

I was happy because everything was going pretty well for us. Some of the kids were already making sales and were happy to see people buying their work. On the other hand, there were other students who weren’t able to sell anything and were a little sad. I had talked to the kids and also asked Mom and Dad to be aware of those kinds of situations, since those were things that could happen, but they shouldn’t be a reason for them to stop trying. Still, that’s one thing; the reality of the moment is another. I tried to comfort them and give them a hand, so only time and life itself can turn this into a lesson. This isn’t the first time we’ll be selling, and I have faith in their talents. Their work was very good and made with love and dedication, but sometimes their classmates don’t have enough money, and there are other factors as well.
Finally, we began to pack up all our things, but not before each student received their certificate for participating in the event. They looked very happy. This was a wonderful experience that I’d love to repeat. I can’t leave without telling you to always believe in your talents, and even if you have doubts or fears, don’t stop—go for it. Without further ado, thank you so much for stopping by here.
