Ensayo con Coral Cerro Bolívar: ejercicios varios y con La Niña Heriberta [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m joining you here to share a new day in my life with you. This time, I want to tell you about how the rehearsal went at the Cerro Bolívar Choir with Professor Proto. This is the third time I’ve attended the classes, and I really cherish it because I love to sing and also discover new songs that—by the way—I didn’t know existed in my beautiful country, Venezuela. I’m a little embarrassed to admit it, but I’d rather be honest—I don’t think I’d ever fully dedicated myself to exploring Venezuelan music before. That’s something I need to keep in mind because, as a Venezuelan and a lover of the arts, I believe it’s our duty to know our music and, even more so, to promote it and preserve it for future generations. One of the roles of a choir (among other things) is to keep all those songs alive so they’re never forgotten.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por acá para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta ocasión les quiero contar cómo estuvo el ensayo en la Coral Cerro Bolívar, con el profesor Proto. Esta es la tercera vez que asisto a las clases y es para mí algo muy apreciado porque me encanta cantar y también descubrir nuevas canciones que (por cierto) yo desconocía de mi bonito país Venezuela. Me da un poco de vergüenza, pero prefiero ser sincera, pues creo que nunca me había dedicado de lleno a explorar la música venezolana. Eso es algo que debo tener presente porque cómo venezolana y amante de las artes, creo que es un deber conocer nuestra música y aún más, hacerlas valer y conservar en el tiempo. Un coro cumple (entre otras cosas) la función de mantener vivas todas esas canciones para nunca ser olvidadas.
Professor Proto rehearsed “Golosinas Criollas,” “Heriberta,” an arrangement by Natalia, “María Pancha,” “La Negra Atilia,” and others with us. We did an exercise by voice part so we could listen to each other and find the right sound together. Then we sang in contrast to one another—like soprano against alto, tenor against bass—and it was really cool. Professor Proto then had some of the more experienced members sing “Golosinas Criollas” so the rest of us could appreciate everything we still need to learn from it. They sounded great, and it’s also one of my favorite songs in the repertoire because it’s so cheerful and fun.
Oh, I almost forgot. We also rehearsed “Amor de mis Amores.” Although, for me, that one isn’t among my favorites. All in all, it was a great rehearsal; we were able to polish several songs, and we also had a great time together as a group. I think that last part is important too: getting to know each other. I’m starting to feel right at home. Without further ado, thank you so much for stopping by and reading my post.
El profesor Proto ensayo con nosotros Golosinas Criollas, Heriberta, un arreglo de Natalia, María Pancha, la Negra Atilia y otras. Hicimos un ejercicio por cuerda, para poder escucharnos y encontrar el sonido adecuado entre nosotros. Luego nos confrontamos, cómo cantandonos entre nosotros (soprano contra contralto, tenor contra bajo) y fue muy chévere. El profesor luego hizo que algunos miembros con mayor experiencia cantaran la canción de Golosinas Criollas para que los demás pudiéramos apreciar todo lo que necesitamos aprender de allí. Se escucharon muy bien y es además una de mis canciones favoritas del repertorio porque es muy alegre y divertida.
Ah, se me estaba olvidando. También ensayamos Amor de mis Amores. Aunque esta última para mí, no es de mis favoritas. Al final del día fue un ensayo muy bueno, pudimos pulir varias canciones y además la pasamos muy bien entre los miembros. Creo que eso último también es importante: conocerse. Me empiezo a sentir cómo en casa. Sin más que decir, muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí y leer mí publicación.
