Monomad : Chess And Life

#monomad today features photographs that communicate life in a board, like we can liken our lives both past and present on a board game.

This portrait setup was created using a Bowen Snoot modifier,I used this to direct the light to the subject, the snoot had a grid and the light was hard, no modifiers right over his head and the chessboard with another light on my right, this one was diffused but had a low intensity (large softbox with a diffuser).

I had to go a local store to get a standard chessboard.

While growing, although I do not play chess often I have learnt a few things about the game of chess, you might not be able to undo past moves especially with your pawns, but you can make the next move a better one.

I even tried to engage my subject in the game, although I lost a major piece which was my queen lol.
