Fungi Friday: A little splash of red

avatar

I have a feeling we're being watched from above says the fungi community. Many people pass us by on a daily basis and yet few stop to really look at us.

I like your new pair of earrings, red suits you and matches your cheeks when I tell you a knee slapping joke like this one.

Why did the fungi hunter stop hunting only after a mere 10 minutes? Too much truffle.

I sense people look upward too. As above, so below as they say. There was a found footage horror film put out with this title that had people wandering around the Catacombs of Paris. What a setting for a horror film!

Looking good. Those little red dots are reminding me of eyes and this might be a manta ray. I wonder if anyone has posted any fungi present in the sea? That would be really interesting to sea (did you see what I did there?) as there are a great deal of them in there.

Don't forget about us at the base! We're making our way up to the summit. We're making progress but it's hard to see.

Be sure to zoom in a little bit more. Don't let the green funk on us make you think we're not active. We can actually start growing in mere hours, I have some friends that are just forming right now.

Interesting :P
I asked Uncle Google... and look what I found!

Australian scientists have used genetic material to pinpoint the origin of the deep-sea mushroom, an unusual gelatinous creature first dredged up near Tasmania in 1986.
