Trump says he believes China got Iran to negotiate

"U.S. President Donald Trump told AFP on Tuesday that he believes China got Iran to negotiate a ceasefire in the war against Israel and the United States."

--- Proper bullshit! There was no Chinese mediation necessary because idiot Trump essentially agreed to negotiate on the basis of an Iranian 10-point plan.

A hacker has allegedly breached one of China’s supercomputers and is attempting to sell a trove of stolen data

"The dataset, which allegedly contains more than 10 petabytes of sensitive information, is believed by experts to have been obtained from the National Supercomputing Center (NSCC) in Tianjin – a centralized hub that provides infrastructure services for more than 6,000 clients across China, including advanced science and defense agencies.
Cyber experts who have spoken to the alleged hacker and reviewed samples of the stolen data they posted online say they appeared to gain entry to the massive computer with comparative ease and were able to siphon out huge amounts of data over the course of multiple months without being detected."

--- Knowing how computer security works in China, I tend to believe this is true.

"“I’m sure that there are plenty of governments globally that are interested in some of the data at the NSCC, but many of those governments that are interested also may already have the data.”"

--- Also true, but there are numerous smaller countries who would like to have a share of that data.

"The alleged breach, if genuine, points to a potentially deeper vulnerability in China’s technology infrastructure"

--- You don't say.

"They’ve really had poor cybersecurity for a very long time across a wide number of industries and organizations"

--- Exactly.

China is winning one AI race, the US another - but either might pull ahead

"The US has traditionally led on so-called AI brains: the world of chatbots, microchips, and large language models (LLMs). China has been superior on AI "bodies": robots (and in particular, "humanoid" robots that look eerily like people).
[...]
China has particularly excelled in so-called "humanoid" robots: machines broadly designed to look and act like people."

--- Bullshit. This article is written by people who have obviously not much of an idea how China is run.
Those humanoid robots which you can see in lots of youtube videos are not much more than remote controlled toys.
China doesn't have a technological advantage in that regard. It has a numerical advantage by deploying lots of, for example, delivery robots. That's it.

"In January 2025, in the same week Donald Trump was inaugurated for the second time, surrounded by billionaire tech bros, China launched its own AI-powered chatbot: DeepSeek. For a user, it feels broadly similar to ChatGPT."

--- Because it is nothing more than a ChatGPT clone.

Taiwan opposition leader visits China for expected meeting with Xi Jinping

"the KMT has traditionally maintained warm ties with China"

--- If you forget the civil war and the decades of enmity that followed.
