A Walk with Our Family (ENG-ESP)
Hello everyone, this week our family went on a walk and I wanted to be able to share some of the photos that we took. Come along! 😄
Hola a todos, esta semana nuestra familia salió a caminar y quería compartir algunas de las fotos que tomamos. ¡Acompáñenme! 😄
The beginning of our walk greeted us with this! We saw a magnificent "cotton candy" tree 🤭 This is not its actual name, only what I like to call it. In reality, this is a Crabapple Tree. I was surprised to learn this because I am familiar with crabapples; they are small, very tart and sour apples. However, I never knew this tree was a crabapple in bloom!
¡Nuestro paseo comenzó con esto! Vimos un magnífico árbol de "algodón de azúcar" 🤭 Este no es su nombre real, solo es como me gusta llamarlo. En realidad, se trata de un manzano silvestre. Me sorprendió saberlo porque conozco bien las manzanas silvestres; son pequeñas, muy ácidas y agrias. Sin embargo, ¡nunca imaginé que este árbol fuera un manzano silvestre en flor!
We arrived at the park 🙏 We love this park -- my husband and I included -- because it offers a lot of new and cool playground equipment for the children. Like this piece here: these are "parallel swings," as I like to call them. Two people sit opposite AND across from each other while on this swing.
Llegamos al parque 🙏 Nos encanta este parque —a mi esposo y a mí también— porque tiene muchos juegos infantiles nuevos y geniales. Como este de aquí: son columpios paralelos, como me gusta llamarlos. Dos personas se sientan una frente a la otra en este columpio.
A fun see-saw for our two girls to use 👍 This one is great because a person can even sit in the middle of it, as our oldest is about to do 😄
Un divertido balancín para que nuestras dos hijas lo usen 👍 Este es genial porque incluso una persona puede sentarse en el medio, como está a punto de hacer nuestra hija mayor 😄
I saw some graffiti that was done on a mural off to the side of the park, so I went to take a few pictures. Here we have Buddha and a yummy slice of pizza 🍕
Vi unos grafitis en un mural a un lado del parque, así que fui a sacar algunas fotos. Aquí tenemos a Buda y una deliciosa porción de pizza 🍕
More photos from the playground: our oldest in a tunnel, and a giant swing for a handful of kids to climb onto 😁 Another child went on with our girls; they all had a blast!

Would you believe that this is a photo of ANOTHER crabapple tree?! 😱 Again, I was surprised to learn that they not only have such beautiful blooming flowers, but that they come in different varieties as well.
¿Puedes creer que esta es una foto de OTRO manzano silvestre? 😱 Una vez más, me sorprendió saber que no solo tienen flores tan hermosas, sino que también existen en diferentes variedades.
This picture here is an inside joke -- I found the Gaba Gaba Gool Club! 😄 The reason I say this is an inside joke is because prior to learning about this club, I used to say gaba gaba gool as a bunch of gibberish. No -- apparently it is a real thing! 😂

Along the way home, I came across some lovely flowers. Here are some tulips. Black/purple tulips are one of my favorites, but I loved these yellow and red spliced tulips as well. The next photo of flowers shows a bouquet of Creeping Phlox. These pinwheel flowers are just cute as a button!
De camino a casa, me encontré con unas flores preciosas. Aquí hay algunos tulipanes. Los tulipanes negros y morados son de mis favoritos, pero también me encantaron estos tulipanes amarillos y rojos. La siguiente foto de flores muestra un ramo de Phlox rastrero. ¡Estas flores en forma de molinillo son monísimas!
This was a moment that simply took my breath away. Further along our walk, some kids had carved their names into the sidewalk outside of their school. However, the one my eyes immediately settled on -- the very first name -- was this one: God. It truly spoke to me because I had felt His presence the entire day.
Fue un momento que me dejó sin aliento. Más adelante, vimos a algunos niños con sus nombres grabados en la acera frente a su escuela. Sin embargo, el primero que captó mi atención fue este: Dios. Me conmovió profundamente porque había sentido su presencia durante todo el día.
