Eyeglasses On, Clearer Vision

avatar

Hello, dear hivers! How's your weekend? I hope you get to relax and enjoyed every moment of it.

For the week's #MarketFriday, I went to the city nearest our town, an hour's travel to have my eyeglasses replaced since it was broken. I mentioned in my previous post what happened when I went there on a Sunday.

I came back the next day. Commuting to the City of Baybay from our town has become more convenient compared to years ago before the pandemic. There are more choices for public transport and waiting time is shorter. You can choose from bus, van, multicab and minibus. I prefer the minibus because it is spacious, air-conditioned, and comfortable. The driver follows a certain speed limit so I don't get groggy after the ride. Since the minibus has a shorter route than the bus and van, I had to go on cutting trips. From our town to the town of Inopacan and then from Inopacan to Baybay City. But I don't mind since the minibus follows a specific time when to go unlike before, public vehicles had to wait for passengers until it was at their full capacity before they would move. Sometimes you have to wait an hour or more. These changes in the transport system have made traveling more convenient for me.

A senior citizen as minibus conductor.

Another thing that I appreciate about this minibus is that they hired able and willing to work senior citizens as conductors. Conductors are the ones that collect the fare and issue the receipt and assist the passengers. I noticed this when I was on my way from Inopacan to Baybay and vice versa. The conductors of the different buses I rode were senior citizens so I inferred that they must have given priority to the older people to get hired.

When I arrived in Baybay City, I immediately went to the optical shop. This shop is already my "suki" since most of my glasses were made here. I am a loyal kind of customer in which if I like your service for the first time, then I'll stick with you. I won't look for another shop to compare which is better.

The shop was open, thankfully. I noticed there were changes in their shop. It is wider compared to the last time I was there. They have improved a lot. This is something I noticed from businesses that were not very much affected by the pandemic. They either improve or expand their businesses.

When I came inside, the staff was very friendly and catered to my needs immediately. They had my eyes checked using a tonometer. I was asked to sit in front of this apparatus and had my eyes checked as if it was taking a picture of my eyes. Afterward, the optometrist had my eyes examined in another apparatus called a phoropter to determine my glass prescription. It uses different lenses and I was asked which one I could see the clearest.

This is the tonometer.

After determining my glass prescription, I was asked to choose a frame for my glasses. They let me try different frame styles and chose the one that will look good on me. 🤓

Then they issued and receipt for my purchase which includes the frame (Php1250.00) and the lens (Php750.00). That is how costly it is to use eyeglasses so you better take care of your eyes. Eat the right food and don't over-expose your eyes to computer screens. This was my trigger when I worked in a company wherein I have to face the computer for at least 6 hours a day.

The staff asked me to wait at least an hour for my eyeglasses to be done. So while waiting, I went out to walk around the city just to check what has changed or if there are new establishments built. Maybe I will post about it in my next blog.

After an hour I went back to the shop and had my eyeglasses ready to use.

Finally, I won't have to suffer from blurry vision with these new glasses.

And with this post is my participation in @dswigle #MarketFriday.

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day everyone.

I am also a four-eyed human. I have three glasses because sometimes I forgot my glasses. So what I do is I put one in my bag, on my desk, and a spare. !PIZZA

From @ayane-chan to your post I think it is already a sign for me to get a new pair of glasses. It has been more than 5 years since I had wore one. My vision's still okay but each time that we will have the Annual Physical exam, they are telling me to get one already as I cannot see everything that clear yet.

Dapat may loyalty award ka na from them since you are always using their service!

Maybe it's time. In my case, i suffered from frequent headaches and nausea that was the sign I needed glasses.

What a nice trip around town you had, @bluepark.

Another thing that I appreciate about this minibus is that they hired able and willing to work senior citizens as conductors.

That's wonderful. Many senior citizens still need to earn income, and for many jobs it is difficult to find enough people. So, it's a perfect match!

Thank you @jayna. Good thing they don't discriminate age. It's a big help to seniors who needs to earn.

You're lucky you don't need special lenses and your glasses can be done right away. I need to order my lenses as mine are not usual, but it takes just a couple of days as the service is good. Anyway, enjoy your new glasses as I know what ti means to see clearly :)

There were other options of the kind of lens like the one that has protection from uv but it was not available so I just chose waht's available since I really needed it.
Thank you. I hope you have a great day.

The bus is special sis. I only see those on television. Never had I imagined that we have those kinds in Baybay. The world is getting more advanced each day.

Boy, life is just easier for you with the pandemic! That makes you unusual! :) That is great that they made transportation easier and more consistent. I can see why you like the minibusses better. I would too. A nice comfortable ride. They probably all cost about the same, yes?

Isn't medicine amazing now? You don't even have to read the charts. They take a picture of your eyes and you are done, almost. :) They have lots of different frames and wow, aren't glasses expensive now? I guess everything has gone up.

That was a full and great explanation of how it takes you to travel and the art of getting glasses! I appreciate your support! Thank you for participating in #MarketFriday! I appreciate the time and effort that goes into putting a post together for the challenge. It is with great pleasure that I read through and realize how much we have all tried to include things in our world that may be unique to the area. I have learned so much about the different cultures of the world, especially the small things that go unnoticed except by those looking for them. Life is interesting, wherever you are, whatever you are doing. I hope the week has found you healthy and happy, as we all look to prosper in our way of life.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? Was it expensive or cheap? Did it go up or down? Please do not post 30 pictures with no words about them.Do not use pictures more than once in a post!
  3. Post the pictures. Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post, it is too difficult to guess on some
    4. #MarketFriday must be your first tag.
Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post (#hive-196308) This is not required but appreciated.
    5. PLEASE Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it!!
  4. Following me and reblogging the post would be appreciated, but not a rule, more vision for more views on the #MarketFriday posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post.
As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!

Yup ordinary lens lng sya kaya mas mura. Need na kasi kya kinuha ko. Wow, galing ng diskarte ng kaibigan mo. Ngayon ko lng naisip pwede naman pala ganu.
