Shooting flies with a cannon. I'm gonna use this one on the wife while she micromanages the upcoming holiday. I had to get change today for tips abroad. I know I'l thank her later but right not its shooting flies from a cannon.
Laughed out loud at the of shit flying out of their bums. 😂 Never heard that phrase even in Ireland. We use a more basic term. "He has the shits." 😂

My favourite idioms are usually those which provide a very imaginative but also pretty accurate description on what is happening, but although the flying sparrow flock during diarrhea is all that, it's just perhaps too much. But I thought that Hivers would appreciate the translation. 😆
