Beautiful day to you all in this great community @diyhub it is another lovely day to share with you my recent creativity and I'm sure you will like the beautiful outcome. Today, I will be sharing with you the making of this stylish and simple gown outfit with cape on the neckline and a peplum on the waist line for my niece.

Being a seamstress in the family is a great opportunity for me and the family as well, I make different outfit for people around me most especially my niece who love and always so proud to wear beautiful things made by me for her. I decided to make this gown for the girls in the house and the outcome was so nice.

To start with the cutting and sewing process

I folded the fabric in two to cut out the front view of the lower part of the gown with the bodice measurement

The fabric was folded in two and I placed the front on it with zipper allowance of 1.5" and the back lower bodice were cut out

I cut out lining as well which was used to turn it inside out to cover the rough edges for neat finishing

The two pieces for the back were sewn together before it was sewn to the front bodice leaving a slit and zipper opening allowance at the back

The lower part of the gown was set aside and I proceeded to the cutting of the upper bodice

For the upper bodice, I cut out a basic block pattern for the front and back with a slanted V-neckline in front

Lining was used to turn it inside out on both sides leaving the neckline and I measured the neckline which was used to cut out the stylish cape.

I cut out same fabric as lining and it was used to turn the main piece on which I ironed interfacing on, it was then sewn on the neckline on both sides leaving the zipper allowance at the back

The upper bodice was sewn to the lower part of the gown and I went ahead to cut out 360° flare with interfacing ironed on it and lining to turn it inside out and it was sewn to the waist line

Finally, I cut out a basic sleeves with the plain fabric to pipe the hem and the zipper was sewn to the zipper allowance.

This is how beautiful and stylish the outcome is and I hope you like it.
