Selçuk Museum / Selçuklu Müzesi

Hello everyone from Sunday. Yesterday I shared a post about Kayseri Castle. After the castle tour, we visited a historical museum in the city center. Beautiful flowers greet visitors just opposite the entrance door of the museum. I dedicate these flowers to all my female friends in our community and in Hive.

Pazar gününden herkese selam. Dün Kayseri Kalesi ile ilgili bir post paylaşmıştım. Kale gezisinden sonra yine şehir merkezinde bulunan tarihi bir müzeyi ziyaret ettik. Müzenin giriş kapısının hemen karşısında güzel çiçekler ziyaretçilerini karşılıyor. Bu çiçekleri topluluğumuzdaki ve Hive'daki bütün bayan arkadaşlara armağan ediyorum.

Since the interior of the museum is very multifaceted, we decided to visit it counterclockwise. Just to the left of the entrance is an eight-pointed Seljuk star. Each of them expresses different concepts. Although my history is good, I saw this star for the first time.

Müzenin iç kısmı çok yönlü olduğu için saat yönünün tersine gezmeye karar verdik. Girişin hemen sol tarafında sekiz köşeli Selçuklu yıldızı bulunuyor. Her bir kavramı farklı kavramları ifade ediyor. Oldukça dikkat çeken bu yıldızı tarihim iyi olmasına rağmen ilk defa gördüm.

Some of the remarkable artifacts of the museum are rings and coins from the Ottoman period. I have seen such artifacts from these periods in my previous museum trips and even included them in my Karaman museum trip post. The rings attracted my attention more, they really have a different atmosphere.

Müzenin dikkat çeken eserlerinden bazıları da Osmanlı dönemine ait yüzükler ve paralar. Bu dönemlere ait bu tür eserleri daha önceki müze gezilerimde gördüm hatta Karaman müze gezisi postumda yer vermiştim. Yüzükler benim daha çok dikkatimi çekti gerçekten hepsinin ayrı bir havası var.

I knew that miniatures from the Seljuk period occupied a large place in history and shed light on understanding the cultural structure of that period. I think these miniatures were inspired by a different work and made recently. The miniature consists of a teacher and students trying to explain something to their students. Of course, this also shows the importance given to education. Also, the posture of the students clearly shows the respect they show to their teachers.

Selçuklu dönemine ait minyatürlerin tarihte geniş yer kapladığını ve o döneme ait kültürel yapıyı anlamada ışık tuttuğunu biliyordum. Bu minyatürler sanırım farklı bir eserden esinlenerek yakın zamanda yapılmış. Minyatür, öğrencilerine bir şeyler anlatmaya çalışan hoca ve öğrencilerden oluşuyor. Tabi bu durum eğitime verilen önemi de gösteriyor. Ayrıca öğrencilerin duruşundan hocalarına gösterdiği saygı açık bir şekilde görünüyor.

A small Seljuk street was built in order to go deeper into the Seljuk period, into the depths of history and to live in that moment. Sound effects were added to the interior of the street to make it even more effective.

Selçuklu dönemine, tarihin derinliklerine inebilmek, o anı yaşayabilmek için küçük bir Selçuklu sokağı yapılmış. Sokağın iç kısmına ses efekti verilerek daha da etkili olunmaya çalışılmış.

It is understood from the ceramic plates that food culture was valued during the Seljuk period. I can say that the decorations are especially wonderful. I think it is very difficult to see these plates today.

Selçuklu döneminde yemek kültürüne değer verildiği seramik tabaklardan anlaşılıyor. Özellikle süslemeler harika diyebilirim. Günümüzde sanırım bu tabaklardan görmek çok zor.

We all know that the Turkish bath culture has continued from the past to the present. When I visited this part, frankly, I did not encounter anything surprising or different. Of course, the continuation of this culture shows that as a nation, we attach great importance to cleanliness.

Hamam kültürünün geçmişten günümüze devam ettiğini hepimiz biliyoruz. Bu kısmı gezdiğimde açıkçası hayret verici, farklı şeylerle karşılaşmadım. Tabi bu kültürün devam etmesi millet olarak temizliğe çok önem verdiğimizi göstermektedir.

A separate room was opened to draw attention to the importance of medicinal plants. In the room, there is a doctor trying to treat a patient with medicinal plants, or a doctor and a patient who are knowledgeable in the field of health. Similarly, there is a room that resembles an observation room. The doctor is trying to treat the patient according to the conditions of that day. All these situations are proof of the struggle against medicine and diseases.

Şifalı bitkilerin önemine dikkat çekebilmek için ayrı bir oda açılmış. Odanın içerisinde şifalı bitkilerle hastasını tedavi etmeye çalışan bir doktor ya da sağlık alanında bilgili bir hekim ve hasta bulunuyor. Yine benzer bir şekilde müşahede odasını andıran bir oda bulunuyor. Doktor o günün şartlarına göre hastasını tedavi etmeye çalışıyor. Tüm bu durumlar tıbba, hastalıklara verilen mücadelenin bir kanıtı.

Directly opposite the patient room is the music room. In each room, music and melodies in different modes are played. The purpose of this room is both to shed light on the art of that period and to relax people with music.

Hasta odasının tam karşısında müzik odası bulunuyor. Her odada farklı makamlarda müzikler, ezgiler çalıyor. Bu odanın amacı hem o dönemin sanatına ışık tutmak hemde insanları müzik eşliğinde rahatlatmak.

One of the most striking features of the museum is that it is supported by technological equipment. For example, thanks to the tablets in the room, you can take a trip into the depths of history. In addition, the museum is supported with different visuals to attract the attention of children. Therefore, people can both visit and get information at the same time. Müzenin en dikkat çeken özelliklerinden birisi de teknolojik araç gereçlerle desteklenmiş olması. Mesela odada bulunan tabletler sayesinde tarihin derinliklerine geziye çıkabiliyorsunuz. Ayrıca müze farklı görsellerle desteklenerek çocukların da ilgisi çekilmeye çalışılmış. Dolayısıyla insanlar hem gezip hemde bilgi sahibi olabiliyorlar.
