Cafer Aga Madrasa / Cafer Ağa Medresesi

Hello everyone. How are you doing, I hope you are well and everything is fine.
Last time I talked about the science and technology museum and today I will try to talk about the "Cafer Aga Madrasah". While I was moving from Gülhane park towards Hagia Sophia, this madrasah caught my eye from the navigation. Even though it was not on the route, I thought I would at least visit it for fifteen or twenty minutes since it was not far. I went uphill for about five minutes on the way to the madrasah. Naturally, I got a little tired.

En son bilim ve teknoloji müzesinden bahsetmiştim. Bugün ise "Cafer Ağa Medresesi'nden" bahsetmeye çalışacağım. Gülhane parkından Ayasofya'ya doğru hareket ederken navigasyondan gözüme bu medrese ilişti. İstikamet üstünde olmasa da uzak olmadığı için en azından on beş, yirmi dakika ziyaret ederim diye düşündüm. Medresenin olduğu yere giderken yaklaşık beş dakika yokuş çıktım. Haliyle biraz yoruldum.

The madrasa is located in a place like a side street. It was built in a quiet place away from the busy city. That's probably why it hasn't been discovered yet. When I went there was not much interest. When I stepped through the door, I came across a place built in a narrow area. It looked like a place reminiscent of a covered bazaar.

Medresenin olduğu yer ara sokak gibi bir yerde bulunuyor. Şehrin yoğunluğundan uzak, sessiz bir yere kurulmuş. Muhtemelen bu yüzden henüz keşfedilmemiş. Ben gittiğimde çok fazla ilgi yoktu. Kapıdan içeriye adım attığım da dar bir alana kurulmuş bir mekanla karşılaştım. Kapalı çarşıyı andıran bir yere benziyordu.

There were approximately 15-20 rooms and almost all of them were different from each other. Some of the rooms had courses and I could not visit the inside of the rooms with course hours. The rooms usually had artworks made by the trainees.

Yaklaşık olarak 15-20 adet oda vardı ve hemen hemen hepsi birbirinden farklıydı. Burayı kısmen halk eğitim merkezine benzettim. Bazı odalarda kurslar vardı ve kurs saati olan odaların içini gezemedim. Odalarda genellikle kursiyerlerin işlediği eserler bulunuyordu.

The first room I entered was occupied by a sister. She was busy sewing. She took time out from her work to introduce me to the products she was making. She was doing this as a hobby. Normally there are exhibitions outside the rooms, but there were none when I visited. There were exhibitions especially of marbling, illumination and miniature. I would like to see these.

İlk girdiğim odada bir abla bulunuyordu. Kendisi dikiş işiyle meşgul oluyordu. Abla işini bırakıp bana zaman ayırdı ve işlediği ürünleri bana tanıttı. Kendisi bu işi hobi olarak yapıyormuş. Normalde odaların dışında da sergiler oluyormuş ancak ben gittiğimde yoktu. Özellikle ebru, tezhip, minyatür gibi sergiler oluyormuş. Bunları görmek isterdim.

One of the most striking features of the madrasa is that the entrance is free of charge. There is also a cafe inside. You can eat and drink tea and coffee. I had coffee and the price was very reasonable. Despite all these things, it is really thought-provoking that the number of visitors is low.

Medresenin en dikkat çeken özelliklerinden birisi girişlerin ücretsiz olması. Ayrıca içerde cafe bulunuyor. Yemek yiyip çay, kahve içebilirsiniz. Ben kahve içtim fiyatı da gayet uygundu. Bunca şeye rağmen ziyaretçi sayısının az olması gerçekten düşündürücü.

This place, which reflects Turkish culture in the most beautiful way, was built by Sinan the Architect and a statue of Sinan the Architect was placed in the courtyard. The architectural structure of the place is another detail. You get lost in the depths of history.

Türk kültürünü en güzel şekilde yansıtan bu mekan Mimar Sinan tarafından inşa edilmiş ve avluya mimar Sinan'ın heykeli koyulmuş. Mekanın mimari yapısı da ayrı bir detay. Tarihin derinliklerinde kayboluyorsunuz.

I have a small interest in the art of marbling, maybe I can enroll in the course here in the future. I recommend you to visit this place which is close to Hagia Sophia and Gülhane Park. You can rest your soul with tea and coffee.
