One highlight of the event was high schooler Bouwahjgie Nkrumie's personal best and championship record of 9.99 seconds in the men's 100m event. The first sub 10 time in the event's history. You may recall that the current world record now stands at 9.58 seconds . untitled.gif
Another highlight was Alana Reid's 10.92 seconds record for the girls 100m.

The future looks bright for Jamaican track and field.

That's impressive, so who knows where this young one will go and eventually break other records.

Got to keep an eye out for this one. Just hope he doesn't get discouraged along the way, just like with Simone Biles who was breaking every record in gymnastics and dealt with mental health problems. Now doing better I think.
Not that it's a shame, because anyone can have those, but wouldn't wish it on anyone.

While I could look it up. I’m gonna guess 28 maybe?

I hope to see some new super athletes out of Jamaica and it looking that way.

On a different note, were you on the track & field team in high school?

That's a good guess but I suppose you have already checked to see how far off you are.

I was not a member of the track and field team in High school. How about you? Did you play any sports in High school? !ALIVE
