Spiceworld: The Second and Final Hit Album of Spice Girls

It's a quick success for the Spice Girls when they debuted. However, after two years, things didn't turn out well for the girls. Yes, they released two albums during the period, and their second release was their final hit record. It's because the group only released three albums, and that their second was their last studio release with the original line-up when Geri Halliwell left the group. Still, "Spiceworld" was still a legendary record even with a movie released associated to it which starred, of course, the Spice Girls.

The album was preceded by the hit "Spice Up Your Life". Despite becoming a hit, the song failed to live up to expectations considering the immense success of the singles from their debut. "Spice Up Your Life" peaked at number 18 in Billboard Hot 100, but it became their fifth consecutive number 1 hit in UK Singles Chart. It was also a top 5 hit in numerous countries.

"Too Much" was released as the second single, and it became their second consecutive Holiday number 1 hit. It also became their sixth consecutive number 1 in UK Singles Chart. In Billboard Hot 100, it peaked at number 9, while in European Singles Chart, it became their sixth top 3 hit.

Their consecutive number 1 singles record was broken when the third single off the album "Stop" only peaked at number 2 in UK Singles Chart, which is still actually impressive. In United States, it reached number 16.

"Viva Forever" was released as the fourth and final official single. It was also their first single since Geri Halliwell left the Spice Girls. It still became a UK number 1 hit, but it wasn't released in United States.

"Spiceworld" was indeed a successful record going 4x platinum despite only reaching number 3 in United States. In UK, the album was 5x platinum. There are differing sales estimate of the album from 14-20 million units.
