Making Special Food From The Chili Harvest in The Morning

Hello everyone,
Lately, there are so many types of food that I want to eat, it seems like in the last 2 months, my food has not been controlled well, because maybe my body needs new adaptations. Yes, I do bulking to gain muscle mass, despite the huge risk for diabetes of eating more than maintenance calories.

Decided to bulking because I wanted to increase muscle mass, often I failed to do the deadlift that I had targeted, I wanted to increase the deadlift weight, so I wanted to become a little stronger. So I came up with a few tricks so I could eat more heartily than usual.

You can imagine how I can eat chicken breast without fat and oil, it even feels very bland because I do it almost every day, fulfilling my daily protein needs so that my muscles recover quickly. One day, when I was loading weights, I lacked protein and it made my muscles feel very sore for up to 3 days, leaving me in deep pain.


Dogfruit Sambal With Anchovies
The Recipe

So I decided to make something that I like, all my friends know that I really like 'Dogfruit', even though the aroma is very annoying for some people, that's what makes it very unique. I think dogfruit has a different texture from other food ingredients and its bitterness makes us very appetizing.

I made dogfruit this time with anchovy, I have 150g left in my refrigerator and I will make good use of it, I think it's a good thing, my husband definitely likes it. Of course, I made it with chilies that I planted in my yard, which I still harvest to this day, almost every day.

The Ingredients


Before cooking, it's a good idea to prepare the ingredients, but the ingredients used must be separated because to make dogfruit it has a soft texture and reduces its aroma, so it must be boiled with spices.

Boiling for dogfruit:

  • Dogfruit that has been split into 2 parts
  • Lemongrass, cinnamon, lime leaves, ginger and galangal.

Chilli sauce:

  • 150 gr anchovies
  • 100 gr red chilies, 3 green chilies
  • 7 cloves of red onion, 3 cloves of garlic, 1 tomato
  • The oil for frying

How to Make Dogfruit Sambal With Anchovies


  • Boiled dogfruit to reduce the aroma of dogfruit so it is more comfortable to eat, this also helps to reduce the hard texture of dogfruit, so it is softer and chewier. Boiled for 1 hour, with quite a lot of water, I used 1.5 liters of water over medium heat.

  • The soft dogfruit is then cut and dried with a dry tissue or cloth.

  • The anchovy used must be soaked in water, then drained and fried in hot oil to make it crispy. Also fry the dogfruit so that it becomes crispy on the outside.

  • Puree the chili sauce, then sauté using the remaining oil for frying, around 3 tsp. then mixed with anchovies and dogfruit, and add a little thinly sliced green chilies.
