Hello ladies and gentlemen of this community on hive.
Here again I go with my write up for this contest edition. The prompt is about impromptu test and if there was a lesson learn while taking impromptu tests.

I do not know about other countries though but one thing I am sure of in my country is, whenever we hear tear a sheet of paper and write these questions down. That's the voice of an impromptu test calling. Teachers or lecturers do that most of the time to get back at student for something.

Probably while the teaching was going on and students seemed distracted with other activities. For example, lot f chit chats were going on among student while the lesson is ongoing. The teacher can pause to ask a question from the student and if they can not answer the question. It confirmed they were not listening

This in turn angers the teacher and a way they let out this anger and get back at students for their act is through impromptu test.

Another reason lectures or teachers can set an impromptu test is if the attendance in a class is poor.

There was this time in my university days. It was during the raining season in my country. Rain can choose any time to fall. This particular morning, I woke up to see a cloudy sky and I rushed to get ready foe class before the rain starts.

Luckily for me, I got a cab to the campus easily. The lecture was to start by 8am. I got there few minutes past 8am. Not long after that it started raining and I was like, the lecturer is not going to come, what a waste of cab fare.

Before I could finish talking to myself, the lecturer walked in. He stood in front of the class and looked around in disappointment. The attendance was really poor. Out of over 200 students, we were less than 30 in the class.

For a 400 level class, I think we were quite a lot.

As I was saying, he started the lecture, not looking impressed. Then he paused and said, if he the lecturer could come in the rain to class to teach students, we students do not have any excuse for shenking class all because of rainfall.

He continued that, he got drenched in the rain just to be able to meet up with the class and what did he get, low attendance. He went on and on furiously.

He just stopped and said, you know what, you that you are here, tear a sheet of paper, write your name and matrix number. He gave us the simplest question ever and told us to answer it and submit. The test took less than 5 minute.

To make sure we did not write for anyone, he counted the numbers of scripts and cross checked with the number of students in class.

Afterwards, he said this test is going to be 20% of our mark and left the class in anger.

Guys that was how I got free 20% waiting for me in my grades for that course.

I was just lucky to have been able to make it for that class, if not I would have been so sad for missing out.

Thank you reading
