Leker, A Traditional Crepe-Similar Snack
At first glance, I think it looks like crepes. The only difference is that this snack is folded once. What do you think?

This is a traditional snack from Solo, called Leker. Yes, according to various sources I've read, this traditional snack comes from the Dutch word "Lekker," which means delicious.

It does have a connection to the Netherlands because there used to be a lot of Dutch people in Solo. Yes, that's part of a dark history. But from that dark history, many cultural influences naturally came into play.
The Dutch love crepes, but by adapting them to traditional ingredients and equipment, Leker was created. Similar to crepes, but different. With its own unique characteristics.
It's named leker because the Dutch used to say this food was delicious. Lekker, Lekker, so the word was adopted by the locals as "Leker."

I enjoyed this Lekker at a food stall in a mall. There's a minimum order of 3 pieces, but you can order with different toppings. I ordered Leker with banana, chocolate peanut, and cheese toppings.

The outer crust of the Leker was very crispy! Be careful because it's very easy to get crumbs, hehe. So don't let your mouth get full of crumbs, hehe. But it was good, right?! Very crispy.

Meanwhile, the inside, filled with toppings, looked moist with the toppings.
My favorite was the original version of Leker with banana filling. It tasted very local to my taste, hehe. I love bananas!

But wait. The cheese topping was also my favorite. The cheese topping is of course adapted to today's young people's favorite cheese toppings. This traditional snack is definitely not one you want to miss 😊

Lastly, I enjoyed Leker with chocolate peanut topping. Oh, the perfect combo! All the variants were delicious.
This was my first time trying this traditional snack, and it was definitely worth a try!
Well, I didn't finish it all myself. I asked my husband to help me finish half of each topping. Hehe. That's a man's job, right? 🤣
So, have you ever tried this similar snack? What's your favorite topping? Have a great day!

♥️ I hope he Will make it for you
it is amazing how food changes and adapts to new places over time
Yeah, cross culture create new things 😊
The Dutch certainly have a dark history as colonizers but, interestingly enough, my Dutch grandfather (my mother's father) was living in Indonesia in the 40s and early 50s and - working as a journalist - he was taken prisoner by the Japanese and forced to work on the 'death railway' in Birma.
He was traumatized by it and never really talked about this time but, more importantly, he survived.
Before she met my granddad, my grandmother got severly injured and almost died during the bombing of Den Haag ( in 1944 ). Her dad, my great grandfather was killed but managed to protect his daughters.
They both made it, got together and that's why I'm here now, commenting on your post :^)
Life is pretty special and we are here for a reason.
I never tried lekers but they do seem lekker.
I love pancakes with cheese or with cheese and (Dutch) sirup and all kinds of savoury toppings.
Yummy!😋
Sorry to hear about what happened to your family.
Life does have many surprises, and as long as we're still alive, we have many valuable reasons to keep going.
I hope your homestead project goes smoothly, with your love :)
❤️
Man, that looks so good. I can already imagine its crispiness just by the look of it. And it also has toppings. I watched lots of food vlogs and the usual topping for crepes are banana and chocolate. I am always curious but never had the chance to really try some. Then there's also that Leker which for sure can't be found just everywhere. And chocolate peanuts toppings is my fav out of all the toppings you mentioned.
Youuu should try choco with banana. Perfect combo!
Hello, dear friend @anggreklestar, good day.
This is the first time I've read about Leker; I hadn't heard of it before. I loved the three varieties you chose, and I also think the banana one must be the most delicious.
Thank you so much for sharing all this information about Leker and your experience.
Have a wonderful day.
Hey my friend. Have a wonderful day
Looks like lekker is very delicious snacks. The texture is just like tacco which also folded once. I never tried to eat that kind of snack Dear Ma'am @anggreklestari but as I saw in the photo, very delicious. 😊
Ah, you Made me thinking about tacco. The shape yes. But tacco has thick dough 😊
So sad there are no taccos and lekker food available here in the Municipality. I hope I can find it at the City. ☺️
Crepe is one of my favorite snacks, @anggreklestari. Your post reminded me that I need to start eating them again (it’s been a while since the last time).
Go, go, eat them again 😊
I just had it... Yesterday, @anggreklestari.
