The Fort of the Galley

This place is magical, you receive a charming energy, it is like receiving a warm hug as the sun enters or plays with the horizon, it draws different shadow shapes on the sea that make that moment unforgettable.

The Fortín de la Galera was declared a Municipal Historic Site 180 years after the battle of "El Fuerte" was fought (information taken from the plaque of this monument).

These photographs were taken in this wonderful place located on the island of Margarita, exactly in Juan Griego, to get there you must climb a hill because this Fort is located in one of the highest parts of Juan Griego. You can get there on foot, or by car, they also organize excursions because this place is almost a must for tourists who want to know the island.

That place

Este lugar es mágico se recibe una energía encantadora, es como recibir un cálido abrazo en la medida que el sol va entrando o jugueteando con el horizonte, este dibuja diferentes formas sombras en el mar que hacen ese momento inolvidable.

El Fortín de la Galera fue declara sitio histórico Municipal a los 180 años de haberse librado la batalla de “El Fuerte” (información tomada de la placa de este monumento).

Estas fotografías fueron tomadas en este maravilloso lugar ubicado en la isla de Margarita, exactamente en Juan griego, para llegar se debe subir como una cuesta porque esta Fuerte se encuentra en una de las partes más altas de Juan Griego. Se puede llegar caminando, o en auto, también organizan excursiones porque este lugar es casi una visita obligada de los turistas que desean conocer la isla.

Enjoy every moment

I was able to enjoy this gift, in the company of a wonderful couple of friends with whom I enjoyed every moment of this visit. We took the opportunity to get to know each other a little better, while they told me the stories that had been lived in this beautiful place. As well as knowing the history of the boats that you see anchored in the photographs. Particularly a few years ago, I had known this place, I remember that the children would come to tell the great stories that were lived there, in addition there were many tourist visits, but today I was surprised that not even the children were there and there were no tourists in large number, I could only see a few foreigners who arrived just as the sun turned orange.

If you want to escape from the routine and you have the economic possibilities, Margarita is an excellent option to enjoy a wonderful place, full of culture, history, beautiful and kind people and above all natural beauty.

The island of Margarita has charming places, and landscapes full of unforgettable colors, because the sun seems to be happy every day to give everyone who inhabits the island this natural spectacle.

Disfruta de cada momento

Yo pude disfrutar de este regalo, en compañía de una pareja de amigos maravillosa con la cual disfruté de cada momento de esta visita. Aprovechamos a conocernos un poco más, mientras me contaban las historias que se habían vivido en este hermoso lugar. Así como conocer la historia de los barcos que ven anclados en las fotografías. Particularmente hace algunos años, yo había conocido este lugar, recuerdo que se acercaban los niños a contar las grandes historias que se vivieron allí, además había muchas visitas de turistas, pero hoy me sorprendí de que no estaban ni los niños y no había turistas en gran cantidad, solo pude ver unos pocos extranjeros que llegaron justamente cuando el sol se tornaba color naranja.

La isla de Margarita tiene lugares encantadores, y paisajes llenos de colores inolvidables, porque el sol parece que se alegra todos los días de regalarle a todos los que habitan la isla de este espectáculo natural.
Si deseas tener un escape de la rutina y tienes las posibilidades económicas, margarita es una excelente opción, para disfrutar de un maravilloso lugar, lleno de cultura, historia, bonitas y amables personas y sobre todo belleza natural.
