Beginning of the Ending Month

1st of every month is an important date on Hive. It is the day when people add some more value and powers to their already existing Hive Power; consequently strengthening the Hive ecosystem and their personal accounts.

Today is December 1. Because of being the first of the month it is important as I wait for it for powering up my Hive. Nevertheless, because of being the first of the last month of the year, its value is more for me. Six years ago, it is the date when a precious soul entered in my life and added happiness to my life.

Today is the sixth birthday of my younger son. His presence in my life is a great blessing of God. He brought bittersweet experiences to me and became a cause of bringing several positive changes which I think I won’t be able to bring otherwise. The year he entered our lives was one of the toughest years of my life. I suffered from several health issues and was diagnosed with clinical depression. In the mid of the year, I lost a loving uncle. Towards the end of the year, on November 3rd precisely, there was a sudden death of my father that left an unfillable void in our lives.

So, the year was proceeding with mishaps and sorrowful incidences. The beginning of the end of the year brought the happiness to my life in the shape of a small body. Hehe. That body has converted into a hugging machine who keeps on hugging me every now and then.

Well, let’s come back to today’s business; and that is participation in Hive Power Up Day (HPUD). If you are new to the platform and have no idea what HPUD is, Here are the details in the post by traciyork. By powering up at least 10 Hive today and creating a post about it (according to the described criteria in the aforementioned post) you become eligible for winning certain prices. Also, there is a cute badge from Hivebuzz.

Powering up is a win/win. It makes us more influential on the platform by increasing the reward we can give via our upvotes. Also, it brings us more curation reward. So why not to do it on a day when it would bring some extra rewards making it a win/win/win. Hehe.

For the last two months, I have been trying to take part in HPUM but for one reason or the other I miss a day in the middle of the month. For this month I have decided to power up more Hive (without reserving them for HPUM). This way I am able to reach this year’s goal, that is to reach 1500 HP.

I had 1259 HP in my account today.

I powered up 250 Hive making my Hive Power cross 1500 HP bar. Yaaay. My current Hive Power is 1509 today. 😀

It is a wonderful beginning for the ending month of the year, isn’t it?
