there has been a viral thread in my country about how actually starts up is handling and treating their intern. Sometimes they work like a full-time worker, yet get so little reward or even get paid. they are pressured with targets to achieve while never even getting any mentorship that they needed. is that kind of thing also happening there?

No, not at all. There wasn't much of an opportunity to learn which was what I cared about. I wasn't bugged with a lot of tasks. I worked physically twice a month, most of the work was done virtually, and it was more about creating creative ideas, which I liked.
