I am very happy to join the participation in Ladies of Hive Contest #149. From the proposals to develop that @elizabethbit brings us this time, I will tell you about an embarrassing moment when I wished I had the magic power to disappear. But my fairy godmother, despite multiple calls, never showed up. I'll try to give details, that's the idea.

Gone were the happy and relaxed summer vacations. I restarted my activities at the University, with lots of emotions, energy, and great expectations. I withdrew my class schedule and looked for my study plan.

I was walking to my assigned classroom, which was my assigned time in the morning, physiology class. Although making friends has not been a difficulty for me, I was looking forward to meeting up with my old classmates.

When I arrived I felt very happy, at least most of them were there, I felt at home. Our teacher gave us the instructions for the curriculum unit. He took the list and randomly set up groups of four members, for all the assignments of the subject.

Then I joined the group by assignment. There was a new guy there, arriving by transfer. We began to talk, to establish our team plan. Almost immediately I felt flutters in my stomach, his exquisite tone of voice, a caress to my senses, his smile, and his jocularity filled the place. I liked everything about him. It was love at first sight. Everything about him was special. He really rocked my world in an unexpected way.

Weeks went by and the affinity between us grew, until one afternoon he surprised me by inviting me to dinner for the next Saturday and I accepted. Over the next few days, my friends were exhausted and annoyed with my many inquiries and questions.

Saturday arrived and with it came the expectations, I tried to take care of all the details, I looked at myself in the mirror and I liked the result. We went to a coffee shop in town, I liked the idea of informality, it allowed us to be relaxed. He suggested I try the clubhouse sandwich specialty. I thought it was a good idea, so we combined it with some milkshakes.

The conversation flowed exquisitely, the atmosphere was magical, everything was going very well and our dinner arrived. We began to taste, he was really right, and the food was delicious. He was a good conversationalist, but surprisingly he began to lower his gaze and dedicated himself to his food, it was an abrupt change.

Internally I began to question myself, and what I had done wrong, to generate that change. He was already avoiding my gaze, so I thought to buy some time, politely stood up, and walked quickly to the ladies' room.

The ladies' room was a tastefully decorated space, I turned around and began to question myself by looking in the mirror and was terrified by what I discovered. My eyes widened, and an icy chill ran through my body. The problem was in my mouth. Specifically, in my central brackets, a large piece of lettuce was stuck.

I spent a lot of time there, I was grieving and I wanted to disintegrate, to disappear. I had no eyes to see it. I wanted the earth to swallow me up. But it was only wishful thinking. Finally, I plucked up the courage and went back to the table. He was so gentlemanly, he greeted me with a broad smile and never said anything about it.

However, although we didn't express it we both felt that the spell had dissipated, the magic had vanished. Perhaps because of my embarrassment, no interest in a second date arose, and we ended up being good friends. Such was my unexpected and embarrassing moment, all for the lettuce.

De las propuestas a desarrollar que @elizabethbit nos trae en esta ocasión, les contaré un momento bochornoso en el que deseé tener el poder mágico de desaparecer. Pero mi hada madrina, a pesar de los múltiples llamados, nunca apareció. Intentaré dar detalles, esa es la idea.

Atrás quedaban las felices y relajadas vacaciones de verano. Reinicié mis actividades en la Universidad, con muchas emociones, energía y grandes expectativas. Retiré mi horario de clases y busqué mi plan de estudios.

Caminaba hacia el aula que me había sido asignada por la mañana, la clase de fisiología. Aunque hacer amigos no ha sido una dificultad para mí, estaba deseando reencontrarme con mis antiguos compañeros de clase.

Cuando llegué me sentí muy feliz, al menos la mayoría estaba allí, me sentí como en casa. Nuestro profesor nos dio las instrucciones para la unidad curricular. Tomó la lista y estableció al azar grupos de cuatro miembros, para todas las tareas de la asignatura.

Entonces me uní al grupo de tarea. Allí estaba un chico nuevo, llegado por traslado. Empezamos a hablar, a establecer nuestro plan de equipo. Casi de inmediato sentí aleteos en el estómago, su exquisito tono de voz, una caricia a mis sentidos, su sonrisa y su jocosidad llenaban el lugar, me gustaba todo de él. Fue amor a primera vista. Todo en él era especial. Realmente sacudió mi mundo de una forma inesperada.

Pasaron las semanas y la afinidad entre nosotros fue creciendo, hasta que una tarde me sorprendió, invitándome a cenar para el sábado siguiente y acepté. Durante los días siguientes, mis amigas estaban agotadas y molestas con mis muchas preguntas y dudas.

Llegó el sábado y con él las expectativas, intenté cuidar todos los detalles, me miré al espejo y me gustó el resultado. Fuimos a una cafetería de la ciudad, me gustaba la idea de informalidad, nos permitía estar relajados. Me sugirió que probara la especialidad en sándwiches clubhouse, me pareció una buena idea, así que lo combinamos con unos batidos.

La conversación fluía exquisitamente, el ambiente era mágico, todo iba muy bien y llegó nuestra cena. Empezamos a degustar, realmente tenía razón, la comida estaba deliciosa. Era un buen conversador, pero sorprendentemente empezó a bajar la mirada y se dedicó a su comida, fue un cambio brusco.

Internamente empecé a cuestionarme, qué había hecho mal, para generar ese cambio. Él ya evitaba mi mirada, así que pensé en ganar algo de tiempo, me levanté educadamente y caminé deprisa hacia el tocador de damas.

El tocador de damas era un espacio decorado con gusto, me di la vuelta, empecé a interrogarme mirándome en el espejo y me aterrorizó lo que descubrí. Mis ojos se abrieron de par en par y un escalofrío recorrió mi cuerpo. El problema estaba en mi boca. Concretamente, en mis brackets centrales, un gran trozo de lechuga estaba atascado.

Pasé mucho tiempo allí, estaba afligida y quería desintegrarme, desaparecer. No tenía ojos para verlo. Quería que la tierra me tragara. Pero sólo eran deseos. Finalmente, me armé de valor y volví a la mesa. Él fue tan caballeroso que me saludó con una amplia sonrisa y no dijo nada al respecto.

Sin embargo aunque no lo expresamos, ambos sentimos que el hechizo se había disipado, la magia se había esfumado. Tal vez por mi vergüenza, no surgió ningún interés en una segunda cita y terminamos siendo buenos amigos. Así fue mi inesperado y embarazoso momento, todo por la lechuga.
