Excursion to Sanctuary of Madonna del Buso - Gallio - province of Vicenza - Discovering Italy with alequandro!

Hi everyone, I recently made a nice discovery. In Gallio in the province of Vicenza, there is a semi-unknown place that hides really interesting views.

Ciao a tutti, di recente ho fatto una bella scoperta. A Gallio in provincia di Vicenza, c'è un posto semi sconosciuto che nasconde degli scorci davvero interessanti.

I arrived at the point where the excursion starts from Bassano and then I took the road that leads from Valstagna to Foza and continued towards Bonur. The landscape is something exceptional, I did the final stretch driving at 30 km / h to enjoy the view.

I drove to where the road was blocked and then I continued on foot.

The road is suitable for vehicles so you can walk lending your senses only to the peace and natural silence that that place offers.

Some sections were covered with icy snow, for safety I had crampons in my backpack, later I needed them.

The weather was perfect, I was walking in a valley protected from the wind and the sun on my skin gave me a good feeling.

After a curve I began to glimpse the bell tower of the sanctuary, it was just a short distance away.

In 1829, on a spring day, a hermit returning from one of his pilgrimages, on a stormy evening, was stuck here, sheltered by some plants.

In the morning he decided that there, on that horrible gorge, it was necessary to build a bridge that would join the two banks. In addition, it was necessary to build a church, a stopping point for travelers and above all a place of prayer. In four years the bridge, the church, and the hermitage were built. Later a bell tower was also erected. During the Great War, not even the Sanctuary was spared. It will be necessary to wait until the end of the 1920s to see it rebuilt in its present form.

Nel 1829, in un giorno di primavera, un eremita di ritorno da uno dei suoi pellegrinaggi, in una sera di tempesta, rimase qui bloccato, al riparo di qualche pianta.

La mattina decise che lì, su quell’orrida gola, occorreva realizzare un ponte che congiungesse le due rive. Inoltre, occorreva edificare una chiesa, punto di sosta per i viandanti e soprattutto luogo di preghiera. In quattro anni vennero realizzati il ponte, la chiesetta, e l'eremitaggio. Successivamente venne innalzato anche un campanile. Durante la Grande Guerra, nemmeno il Santuario fu risparmiato. Occorrerà attendere la fine degli anni Venti per vederlo ricostruito nella forma attuale.

After looking at the sanctuary with interest I decided to continue to see the thing that most interested me ... the buso (the hole)!

The path was steep and totally frozen, but I had crampons, I could do it!

Il sentiero era ripido e totalmente ghiacciato, ma avevo i ramponi, ce la potevo fare!

I was surprised by the grip that the crampons give. It doesn't look like it from the photos, but the path was very steep and it was covered in ice! I felt completely safe, a strange sensation to experience in those conditions.

Sono rimasto sorpreso dal grip che danno i ramponi. Dalle foto non sembra, ma era molto scosceso il sentiero ed era ricoperto di ghiaccio! Mi sentivo in completa sicurezza, una strana sensazione da provare in quelle condizioni.

I had arrived on the bed of the Frenzela stream, my voice and the sound of metal crampons on the stones, echoed on the rock walls.

Ero arrivato sul letto del torrente Frenzela, la mia voce e il suono dei ramponi metallici sui sassi, rimbombavano sulle pareti di roccia.

Ice is always fascinating, it is always nice to watch the shapes it invents.

What a sight, the feeling is that of being on the set of an Indiana Jones-style adventure film :D

Thinking about it, the feeling I felt is like a mystery, because you don't know what will come next. The path is narrow, it reminds me of the feeling and geometry of a Venetian street.
When you walk through the streets of Venice at night, in autumn, you will be alone, with the fog, an incredible sensation of unknown and mystery. This stretch a little bit, it reminds me of that feeling.

Pensandoci bene, la sensazione che ho provato è come di mistero, perchè non si sa cosa ci sarà dopo. Il sentiero è stretto, mi ricorda la sensazione e la geometria di una calle veneziana.
Quando camminate per le calli di Venezia di notte, in autunno, sarete da soli, con la nebbia, una sensazione incredibile, di incognita e di mistero. Questo tratto un po', mi ricorda quella sensazione.

Some points are less illuminated, probably in summer with the sun the effect will be different.

This final stretch is very beautiful but I trust you that it is not very long, at one point there is a high wall that interrupts it.
Worth visiting? In my opinion, yes and as I said if I have the opportunity I will also go back to take pictures of a model, I'm sure the result will be spectacular!

In any case, I recommend organizing the day thinking about adding other destinations in addition to this in order to see as much as possible, because there is so much to see in these areas.

Questo tratto finale è molto bello però vi confido che non è molto lungo, ad un certo punto c'è un muro alto che lo interrompe.
Vale la pena visitarlo? Secondo me sì e come dicevo se ne avrò l'occasione ci tornerò anche per fare delle foto ad una modella, sono sicuro che il risultato sarà spettacolare!

Ad ogni modo consiglio di organizzare la giornata pensando ad aggiungere altre mete oltre a questa in modo da vedere il più possibile, perchè c'è tanto da vedere in queste zone.
