We visited this place a few months ago. My sister-in-law's college classmate invited us to go to her hometown in Nueva Ecija, Philippines.
She brought us here in Minalungao National Park. I so love the endless limestone rock formations and the green pristine waters of the Sumacbao river.

Minalungao’s name was derived from a conjunction of the words mina and lungao, or mine of gold in caves. While there may not be mines of gold in the cave in Minalungao, it remains as Nueva Ecija’s best-kept secret. It was established in 1967 by virtue of Republic Act No. 5100. The park is considered one of the few remaining natural environments in this region north of Manila. It is promoted by the local government as an ecotourism destination offering breath-taking scenery of green pristine river and unique rock formations(Source:https://businessmirror.com.ph)

This is the hotel just beside the river. It's called Minalungao Green Hotel. I kept forgetting the name of the place for it's the first time I've heard of this place.

This is the beautiful river with floating nipa huts that used to cater tourists and visitors. You can rent these huts while eating and swimming on the river.

We arrived here around past 1pm and the sun was really very hot. I took a video and could not even see myself on my phone. I just aimed the phone at us without knowing if it came out well. Hahaha
I have to cover my face with my hands to see my phone.

Sadly the park is closed now due to some local government issues. I hope they will open it again for it is indeed a paradise. There are so many things you can do here. A lot of vloggers come here and take drone videos of this awesome natural wonder for it is surrounded with mountains and acres of trees and vegetation, no people. The vast mountains of the Sierra Madres. Before we arrived here we have to drive for more than an hour up the mountains. So I get to see the beauty of this place.

Hope you enjoyed this place too.
This is my entry to @friendlymoose #pobphotocontest with this week's theme all about #nature.

Thanks for dropping by. See you on my next post.

Yes indeed lucky. At first I kept forgetting the name of the place because it's a bit hard to pronounce or remember for the word is truly uncommon to me.... Yon pala lungao is gold kaya mina-ginto or gold.
Probably its their local dialect.

You've captured some wonderful pics of nature in your blog. The scenery is so different than anything I would see in my neck of the woods. The floating Nipa Huts are very different, it looks as though they are constructed with bamboo. I'm not sure I would be able to walk around on such an uneven surface without falling into the water. 😁 that probably would not be a bad thing with as hot as it looks.

The picture of the bridge going over the river is fabulous. Looking at this picture I increased its size several times and doing so really gave you a clear picture of the limestone cliffs. At the base of the cliffs, the concave nature of this section must have taken millions of years of erosion to form, this section almost looks like it has been polished.

Thanks for sharing, what a wonderful area.

There's a cave just behind those men riding a bamboo raft. They say this used to be a mining site like many many years ago. They mine gold.. hence name mina which is Spanish for mine then lungao (lu-ngaw) which translates to gold.... Gold mine!
When this was open to public you will see many people swimming on This part of the river even upstream where there are lots of floating bamboo rafts. The water is very cold because this sits on the foot of the Sierra Madre mountain range.

No worries this bamboo huts can carry you big bro! Don't be deceived by its looks... Hahaha.
If you could hop on one it would truly be a great experience.😉👍

Yes I truly agree it took many years to create this limestone rock formations. When you are there in person, these rocks are white like that of the ivory tusks some are even Whitier even.

This Canadian blogger/vlogger has pictures of the many floating nipa huts when this park was still open.

I wonder why they closed the park, what a shame. Thanks for the link, I always enjoy links when they are included, it gives the reader a much clearer idea of what the post is all about.
In the pics that I saw the place was loaded with folks having a wonderful time. At times there were so many rafts on the river it looked like a traffic jam in New York City.

So much to see and enjoy, hopefully, it will be fully opened in the future.

Thanks for all of the info, I love it.
