The Indonesian government formally banned tourists from Iran, Italy and South Korea from entering Indonesia in anticipation of the spread of the corona virus or Covid-19 which has now been infected in 93 countries in the world. The whole country must be aware of the spread of the virus, but it does not need to be paranoid so that it adversely affects the economy, social, tourism, law, and even politics.

One of the overreactions was the panic attitude of some residents who bought up staples after the government announced that there were two residents who had been infected and now increased to four. Then the masking and the culprit had been arrested by the police. The price of sanitizer hands also soared and stock was reduced at various pharmacies.

I tried to find a hand sanitizer in several online stores, Saturday, March 7, 2020. In addition to the already soaring price, for example the hand sanitizer that used to sell Rp. 25,000 has now become Rp. 75,000, and the number of purchases is limited to just one. Some online stores have no limits, but the prices are already high.

It seems that Indonesian people are very reactive and paranoid about corona outbreaks. In selling 1 million masks in Jakarta, the line was long and long. In fact, each person can only buy one box for Rp150,000 containing 50 masks or Rp2,500 per mask.

The prohibition of visiting tourists from several countries, including South Korea, must be understood as an effort to control the spread of the virus. However, this policy must be followed up with other efforts such as localization of suspect Covid-19, increased socialization to the community, provision of medical devices that are able to detect viruses accurately.

In essence, efforts to prevent the spread must be carried out and four patients who were already Corona positive must be healed. At the same time, the government and all countries in the world, including WHO, must jointly fight Covid-19 and get an anti-Covic-19 vaccine as soon as possible.

There is no country that can reject Covid-19. Now is the time for us to unite for health, for humanity. []

Waspada, Tapi Jangan Paranoid: Covid 19

Pemerintah Indonesia secara resmi melarang untuk sementara waktu turis dari Iran, Italia, dan Korea Selatan masuk Indonesia untuk mengantisipasi penyebaran virus corona atau Covid-19 yang kini sudah terinveksi di 93 negara di dunia. Seluruh negara memang harus mewaspadai penyebaran virus tersebut, tetapi tidak perlu paranoid sehingga berdampak buruk terhadap perekonomian, sosial, pariwisata, hukum, bahkan politik.

Salah satu reaksi berlebihan adalah sikap panik beberapa warga yang memborong bahan pokok setelah pemerintah mengumumkan ada dua warga yang terinvenveksi dan kini bertambah menjadi empat. Kemudian adanya penimbunan masker dan pelakunya sudah ditangkap polisi. Harga sanitizer hand juga melambung dan stok berkurang di berbagai apotek.

Saya mencoba mencari hand sanitizer di beberapa toko online, Sabtu 7 Maret 2020. Selain harganya yang sudah melambung tinggi, misalnya sanitizer hand yang dulu dijual Rp25.000 kini menjadi Rp75.000, dan jumlah pembelian dibatasi hanya satu saja. Beberapa toko online ada yang tidak membatasi, tetapi harganya sudah tinggi.

Sepertinya masyarakat Indonesia sangat reaktif dan paranoid terhadap wabah corona. Dalam penjualan 1 juta masker di Jakarta, antrean demikian panjang dan lama. Padahal, setiap orang hanya bisa membeli satu boks seharga Rp150.000 yang berisi 50 masker atau Rp2.500 per masker.

Terhadap larangan kunjungan wisatawan dari beberapa negara, termasuk Korea Selatan, harus dimaklumi sebagai upaya mengendalikan penyebaran virus. Namun, kebijakan ini harus ditindaklanjuti dengan upaya lain seperti lokalisir suspect Covid-19, peningkatan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat, penyediaan alat kesehatan yang mampu mendeteksi virus secara akurat.

Intinya, berbagai upaya mencegah penyebaran harus dilakukan dan empat pasien yang sudah positif Corona harus disembuhkan. Dalam waktu bersamaan, pemerintah dan semua negara di dunia, termasuk WHO, harus bersama-sama memerangi Covid-19 dan mendapatkan vaksin anti Covic-19 secepatnya.

Tidak ada lagi negara yang bisa menolak Covid-19. Kini saatnya kita bersatu untuk kesehatan, untuk kemanusiaan.[]
