Motivated Hangovers

Woke up with a ton of motivation to get ish done, a hangover, and in bed other than my own! Great way to start my March, which will no doubt be filled with much Madness!

I love college basketball, but this year I might spend less time studying the brackets and more time studying pharmacology!

Yesterday I wrote about how I lost something precious to me and I decided to get it back. The discipline that acted as armor against natural forces that exist to stand in my way was gone, which left me defenseless and defeated.

I'm happy to say that I am now 2 days into checking off everything on my daily list.

Discipline leads to freedom in all aspects in live, which is counter intuitive, but entertain me for a bit. Below is the first habit I decided the most necessary to pick up.

Maintain a clear space.

Maintaining a clear mind and a clean room acts as a foundation for my mental health. There is something about waking up, or coming home to an environment absent of clutter. I only have so much energy in the day and there is nothing more emotionally draining than living in a space that lacks order.

Maintaining a clutter free environment is just as important than having a clean room. I recently started using the App Headspace, which is a great resource for those trying ease into meditation. They provided many guided recordings that teach you how meditation can let go of stress, relieve sleep deprivation, and be more productive.

I experienced an instant change in how I felt after completing my first mediation session. For the first time in a long time, I was fully present in the moment and recovered the energy I needed to get through the rest of my day!

Even though I have a lot of studying to do, I'm happy I spent time that would've probably been wasted improving my mental health. Although these are small habits to develop in the grand scheme of things, I believe decluttering my environment will only making picking up more demanding habits that much easier.
