An open letter to life
to give my first breath of breath,
to be able to see without recognizing,
but knowing all the unknown.
You maintained patience in the face of challenges,
you hugged me when I was sometimes cold,
you cried beside me in sickness,
you trembled with fear as you almost looked at the end.
You endured the blows of your friends,
those who just like you suffered,
but then as armor you defended yourself,
to protect your partner.
You slept next to me at night,
you cried to vent the longing,
you shouted that agony of pain,
for a new day to begin without fear.
You grew by my side and with it the knowledge,
innocence became reality,
a child's body transformed into a man's,
from ink stains to life scars.
You introduced me to friends,
some still present with love,
others forgotten to betrayal,
greed and deceit tarnished them.
You gave me your own blows,
as an effect of my actions,
and yet you suffered the pain,
and you stood next to me.
You have not renounced my existence,
you keep giving me opportunities,
you cling to thinking that I'm you,
a lot of things I have to do in your living.
You make me see other people's agonies of pain,
everything to feed on you,
something that makes my heart hurt,
wanting to trade it for something happy.
Always by my side and inside of me these,
waiting for me to give up on you,
waiting for you to get tired of me,
separating us at the end of this world.
You gave me the courage to love,
you taught me respect for you,
that there is betrayal and evil,
but hope to start over.
Waiting to do everything I want to feel
thanks to you for still believing in me,
and for accompanying me on this hard road,
for you who are always there, life.
