Sustainable Pencil

Hi Friends,

I was recently attending a virtual conference and they sent me a physical promotional package in the mail to go with the conference. Some things were pretty standard, such as a coaster, coozie, etc, but one thing was certainly unusual - a sustainable pencil:

I guess the point is to use the pencil (has no eraser) until you are done, and then plant the bottom end, which will then sprout into some mystery plant. My criticism is that I don't know plants, so they should say what it will grow into - I would eat it if I knew it was basil, but if it didn't say that, I probably wouldn't risk eating it.

Maybe I will try to plant it to see what happens... might need to be spring though, as it is getting too chilly to do much gardenting right now.
