I am incredible sad to see the WINE project shutting down today (2021.09.25)

I personally did not used WINE much, but this token is (was) one of the best engagement encourager tokens, amongst other similar tokens, for example beer, engage, alive, pizza.

I am a huge pizza fan, and nowadays I regularly call it to encourage engagement by rewarding people.

I hope that what now happened to WINE, will not happen to the other tokens, especially to the above mentioned ones, but based on what @theguruasia wrote on Discord, this can happen to any token, if someone holds a large enough stake (near 100 million from the token) to do the thing described below.

He wrote this:

@Roger.Remix or someone minted 95 million WINE to burn-token wallet manually. So, it became a shit token with this recent activity.

But I am happy for the good news, which is the fact that there will be a new token in a few days, which can replace WINE, and the command will be the same.

But what if the same thing will happen to the new token? Or even to the other tokens?

I do not understand why would anyone intentionally ruin a token? What could be the motivation behind this?

The fork of WINE will be WINEX. Hopefully no one will ruin it.

Actually no one can't ruin a project unless he/she became the owner of the project. WINE project owned by @roger.remix. Few months back he ignored the project but I & @ali-h re-initiate the token project. But today it seems like @roger.remix minted all WINE tokens manually. So we initiated new token named as WINEX and will replace as WINE. (Let's say a fork of WINE)
To create a new token and power up the account we sold wine belongs to wine-ico process. We hope to shift all services to this new token in a few days time and this token ownership is under us. Therefore, no one can do anything against the real token economy. We will manual mint WINEX tokens (1:1) for people who got more than 10 WINE in their HIVE-ENGINE wallets.

Thanks~

Ah it looks like one of the biggest issues with most tokens or tribes is that the owner can manually mint the tokens and mess with the markets.

I am looking forward to seeing what happens with the WINEX token.

Personally I hate to manual mint tokens. But in this case, I have to manual mint WINE tokens to airdrop (1:1) with existing wine holders. (Much similar to what HIVE done)

So what happened exactly, Roger minted 95 million, and did not burn them?

He burnt them later (not the day he minted). We oppose manual token mint since day #1 of this project. If he wish to mint such huge amount of wine, better inform to the community. But nothing has happened.

Ah that is sad to know. It looks like we got a comment below about the new project so I will look forward to what happens in the next few days.
