Some wild life in the region

For many people across the globe who have never travelled to India, from them many think that India is one of those places where animals freely move on the road, like Elephants and Cows. But that's not true :-) Yes there are Cows seen on the roads in some smaller cities and towns, but not in the metros. When I travelled to Oman, I found something similar here also, again it's not in the city area, only if you travel outside of the city area, you will find them freely moving in the mountain region, and basically they are pets grazing around. Camels are very commonly seen in the Middle East region.

I hear a lot of stories from some of my friends who have been in Oman for more then 35 to 40 years and they say, that around that time, in the cities also people transported on Camels and the number of Cars were much lesser. That was a cheap mode of transport then. And also that major part of Oman was desert area, so considering what it is, highly developed city with the world class infrastructure, I must say that they have done a commendable job and the leaders here are visionary.

When I travel and look at them freely moving on their own, be it wherever, it feels good, that they belong in their place, else it is sad to see these animals caged up in someone's possession. Specially in these times when we humans are caged up, we surely realize how it feels to be chained up and can empathize with them.

Mostly on the travels to the mountains I find them freely moving at their pace, and they make you feel that this is their space and they will move around at their comfort. It's a little risky also while driving on these roads, because if suddenly they come up and by any chance hit your car then you and your vehicle are almost finished. Specially the Camels , if they hit your car, then it is a big damage for sure.

There are a lot of Mountain Goats also found here, normally they are pets but left free for grazing.

This picture was clicked in the City, Salalah. It is the Mini Kerala of Oman, the only place where there is a proper rainy season in the months of June to Sept, just like India. These Mountain Goats are only seen in this part of the Country.

And this was a funny one. You normally do not see such a thing in the City and it is not even allowed. If the cops would catch this driver, he would be penalized, because there is a system to transport animals as well.

Looking at it, I was also worried that what if this poor cow, loses her balance in the drive and falls. It is a risk for her life.

Anyways it is always good to see different things in life and take the experience, else life will be boring, if it is just about same to same daily routine.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

lol, funny how one thing is quite normal in one part of the world and quite uncommon in some other part.

Transporting cows like that is quite common in Haryana in India where I live. You could definitely see something like that on road. It's common. And also, cows on road. That too.

You have to keep your eyes open while travelling because they can come from anywhere and injure you. Especially if you are travelling on bike.
And yes, my friends and family has been injured because cows came out of nowhere on the road.

Sure, this is quite uncommon in metro cities. But in traditional states like haryana and punjab, these things are qutie common.

In Gujarat also it is common to see Cows on roads, but lately I see them less. Yes somethings which are so common in some part of the world is unique for another one. Thank you @loftee for sharing your thoughts.

Very few realize this. And those who break the rules, they don't even bother to realize.

Hi Nainaz. Lovely post and nice pictures. Don't worry, when I tell people that I come from South Africa, they sometimes still ask if we have lions and elephants walking through the streets, so I understand.
That last photo also worried me, what if that cow got a fright and bolted, broke free and was loose in the traffic? There is so much that can go wrong with this kind of thing and it's pure idiocy for people to think it's ok to transport an animal that size like that. Anyway, let's hope it all ended well.
Have a good day :)

Africa has a very good wild life region so yes people do think that way. Also on some documentaries they show such things, even for India they show such things to sell it, but that's not the real part of our places.
Yes @andrastia, it was a matter of concern looking at the poor cow, some people are too silly to do things like this. Even if it was a enclosed vehicle it would still be ok, but this is very risky.

It's so funny these days when I see that kind of thing though when people think there are elephants walking in the cities. I hope that cow was ok. Have a good one.

What the hell that poor cow!! I would definitely fall off if I tried to stand on the back of a moving truck for a while. I guess the cow has four legs at least.
