Where on Wednesday: One

I've got a pretty decent life and am not about to complain about it however sometimes I want to be doing life differently, be somewhere different. Considering I can't always be where I want to be, or be doing what I want to I figured I'd do a small piece each Wednesday about where I'd rather be if I could. It celebrates the middle of the working week by giving me a chance to drift away to whatever I would rather be doing, wherever I'd rather be.

What sort of uncle would I be if I didn't initiate the #whereonwednesday thing with my little niece @smallsteps?

So today, the day of the inaugural #whereonwednesday this is where I would rather be...Playing with my niece in Finland.

On this trip I met my niece for the first time and we hit it off really quickly...I think she just knew I was the best uncle ever. No boasting there, just the truth.

This was in Helsinki and @smallsteps had just hurt her hand so was feeling a little sad. You can see part of the bandage on her arm. Naturally super-uncle came to the rescue. You'll probably never experience a @smallsteps cuddle, or an uncle-one either, however you'll have to take my word for it...Both awesome! 😎

Anyway, that's where I'd rather be and what I'd rather be doing right now. If you want to join in on #whereonwednesday just tag it in your post, on a Wednesday, and away you go. It's not a challenge or anything dumb like that, neither do you get anything for it. It's just a chance to post your thoughts and maybe a picture or two of what you'd rather be doing on that day.

Design and create your ideal life, don't live it by default and aim small, miss small.

Yeah, we miss her a lot. She’s a very cool little kid. Smart, funny, cheeky and a good hugger.

While last summer was a scorcher, this one so far has been cool to say the least. Still haven't had a chance to swim - next year?

I think the weather knows the Aussie-connection isn't there and is cooler because of it. Wait until next year, summer in Finland will be cookin' hot once I get there!

I'm trying this new #whereonwednesday thing out as a way to motivate me mid-week and remind me that there's a whole world of places to be and a plethora of things to do...Might help me transition through the week a bit better. I fucked up though...Had it scheduled to post and forgot about it and posted something else right before it. Now I look like a serial-poster! #poolraper

Oh well, any chance to look at pictures of @smallsteps and I'll take it! :)

I'm hoping the #whereonwednesday thing gains a little momentum. I mean who doesn't think about being somewhere else or doing something else when at work? Gives users to express themselves and a topic to post about whether it's somewhere they have been or somewhere they want to be, go or do.

We'll see, considering many don't see my blog no one will know about it and so it'll just be me maybe. Who knows. I'm going to number mine and do one each week as my Wednesday thing.

Yeah it is a good idea and with prices of Steem so low, there might be a spinoff potential for it so people can raise funds to buy some stake.

I will resteem so it gets a bit more exposure at least and if I have time in the evening I will join in - or next week.

She's lucky to have an uncle as super-dooper as me...Anyone would be. I'm thinking of contracting out my uncle-skills do others. I won't be cheap though...

Seriously though, she's a funny little bugger...So smart and cheeky AF. Hmm, I wonder where she gets that from? We're heading back to EU next year, around this time, so won't be long until I can have a cuddle. She'll be almost 4 then. Old enough for me to teach her bad habits that her mum and dad need to deal with when I leave. It's my job.

I would totally rent you as an uncle, even though you're only a few years older than me. I don't have a lot of money, but I can pay you in goat cheese!

Please do teach her all the bad habits when you see her again! That will cement you forever as the greatest person in the world in her book. It's so much fun to do that and then leave the parents to deal with the fallout!
