Weekend...End

avatar

It was a bit of a warm one today with the temperature rising to 38°C [Just over 100F for you Americans] and the sun beating down rather mercilessly.

The image below shows a snapshot from the Bureau of Meteorology here in Australia at just after 6pm...It's 37.7 apparently, although the thermometer I have hanging under my pergola says 38.8 - Either way, it's hot AF!

We had chores to do today and were supposed to start early...At 10am I rolled out of bed...Yep, there goes the early start! We had a late night though so a sleep in seemed like the perfect way to start Sunday.

We picked up my trailer from my mother in-laws house and loaded it up with the accumulated stuff that modern households tend to gather these days and went to the dump. Some was set aside for recycling though: An old flat-panel TV, car battery, and some tyres which I had to pay to dispose of. (They were off the trailer from when I put new wheels and tyres on.)

After that we headed to the hardware store to grab electrical stuff for a small job I'm doing here next week and we had a look at a home security system, a camera system that records to DVR, that we are considering getting. All pretty standard Sunday-shores stuff I guess.

All the while we sweltered in the heat of the day and as you can see, even at 6pm in the evening it's still very hot.

We went to the beach later, for a swim. It was really nice as the water was glassy and cool so we just paddled around chatting and hoping we wouldn't get eaten by a shark. So relaxing.

We had a great weekend overall and the fact we spent some of it doing chores didn't worry us. A walk on the beach and a swim at the end of a hot day is always nice too so I declare the weekend to have been a great success.

I'll be flying down to Tasmania, via Melbourne, on Friday this week, to be in Launceston for the weekend to attend my brothers' graduation from university - I'll be there alone as Faith has to work unfortunately. I'm looking forward to it as I haven't seen my brother for a long time but have a week of work to get done first, beginning with the most dreaded day of the week...Monday.

I hope y'all have had a great weekend and managed to get something done no matter if it was chores or simply enjoying life with friends and family. I guess many of you are experienced cold weather, which will only get worse, however you gotta get after life and make the most of it anyway right?

Have a great week y'all.

Sure is! Was a pretty uncomfortable day, but had to get the work done. I'm looking forward to Tassie, haven't seen my brother for a long time. Should be good.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

I would take some of that weather right now! We will be at a range of -9C to high of 7C this week. Normal for us this time of year. Of course we do get the snow to play in.

If I had snow no one would be safe...I'd be sending it with sharpshooter accuracy and extreme prejudice! 😂 Mailman, joggers, people walking their dog. Neighbours...My wife...All fair game!

I wanted to say something about not being sure your weekend was standard (aside from the beach part) but I'm not really sure what "standard" is so it could have been? XD It sounds like it was a nice one anyway :)

Leading up to the weekend was about that hot over here, then the weekend itself was beautiful, and now it's thinking about heating back up again.

I felt like I accomplished stuff so mine was good too XD (I usually do accomplish stuff but don't usually feel it)

You're in WA right? We normally get WA weather a day or so after...

I don't have a standard weekend...Most are different in some way to the others...What is standard is that I get after the weekend with passion. That always happens. 😁

Yep. I think it used to cool down more on the way over previously, I remember feeling sorry for everyone over east the first couple of times they went into shock when our summer temps actually made it over there intact XD
