Wednesday Walk make me smile post January 29th

This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)

Note I want to thank @bluemist for sponsoring this challenge starting from this week, due to their support I will be from next week sending out Steem to a selection of people who partake in the Wednesday walk as I will explain in the guidelines below all of the liquid rewards for this post will be shared with a selection of participants.

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.

This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.

Try and get a few shots not just one

Add a bit of a write up about where you walked

You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.

Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .

Following me and resteeming the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk, plus I will be sending some Steem to a selection of those who participate, please note this is a change from sending out SBI shares, as I did in the past.

Actifit

A good App that works well in conjunction with the Wednesday Walk or any day walk is @actifit, which rewards you with Actifit Tokens and Steemit Upvotes, if you use the app to track your steps and do a post of your actifit total each day.

If you do a lot of activity I do recommend you check it out

Make me Smile Collaboration

As I mentioned above Wednesday Walk is collaborating with the [Make Me Smile] hosted by @elizacheng,

Here are the rules for her challenge

Your post can be writing, singing, video, poem,drawing, photography etc.... the most important part is your post Make me" smile, Remember, the ME is whoever read/view/listen to your post and this includes YOURSELF.
b. Your content must be ORIGINAL CONTENT
c. Please include at least 50 Words in your post

I was on my way to visit a lawyer for some paperwork I needed to do, so this walk is mid-morning and not my early morning walk, and I started it by catching the Subway to Hudson Yards and walking from there to Broadway for my appointment and then back to the office.
I passed by this Billboard for the New Star Trek Movie ( I think) Picard which I must catch at sometime

Picard is a new show that is exclusively on the CBS streaming app. It is supposed to be very good. I think @honeybee just did a review on it. You should check it out if you are interested. I am going to wait for all the episodes to be out then try to catch it I think.

Good stuff as usual JJ, just a FYI, "Picard" is not a movie, it is a weekly series that is only available on "CBS-All Access" (pay channel, monthly with commercials is like $5.99, without commercials is just under $10)
I DID watch the first episode, and it looks exTREMELY interesting, but I cannot see paying either monthly fee just for one show.
My trial ends this Friday, so if I understand correctly, I should be able to catch the second show tomorrow night.
Then I'll cancel the subscription. Thanks for the great photos @tattoodjay

You know, I scrolled around looking at things that were available and Picard and Star Trek/Discovery were the only things that interested me.
I watched the first episode of Picard, then switched to Discovery.
It had been on Fox (I thought) originally but wherever it was, I never got a chance to watch any of it.
Since I didn't splurge on the no commercial trial, having to stop the show for 3 commercials (that you can't fast forward through) I got tired of that, went to Amazon Prime and bought the whole first season of Discovery for just under $27, Im up to episode 11 of 15, then there is the second season (the third is supposed to come out this summer I think)
SO if I can get the second episode of Picard tomorrow night, I will cancel the trial and wait for it to come out like you said @tattoodjay

I just cut my cable and now mainly use youtube Tv for my TV, well more for my wifes TV, but i have it set to record a few shows and will wait till the season finishes to watch them, I hate waiting week after week for new episodes of a show LOL

I love it how they turn boring gray concrete walls and buildings into little or even great artworks in NYC. Your photos show so much of that and almost every day we may see new pieces of art captured by you in beautiful photos 😊

Right, maybe tomorrow I'll have more time too. I have had much to do at work and then I have had to do some shopping and bought a new printer for my daughter.
Tomorrow will be a better day for both of us ... and it's weekend :)

Super cool shots as always! I especially love that Papillion Bistro! And it's so true we have Papillion charity here. Thanks for reminding me I will pay will to him for sure.

Unfortunately I don't have my photos from last week, because they are on my darter's phone, lol. She is too busy to send them to me and I didn't prepare anything else. Oh well, I will catch up next week.

Anyway, I have a question to ask you. Are you familiar with Shutterstock? Someone suggested it to me, so I created an account and I uploaded few photos, but I am not sure if I am not just wasting my time. I am also designing a new recipe blog and I have to focus on that. If you have any advise, please let me know. Thank you 😊

No worries missing a week, I do that often with some other challenges ;)

I know a few people that use Shutterstock and similar and are very happy with it , but i have not tried it myself and as I understand it, it is time consuming to set it up initially and to learn the right tags to use when one adds photos to it.
But it is on my list to think about and research some more when I am settled after I retire and may give it a try

Oh really? Well I am to hear that. I have uploaded few photos and attached as many tags I could think of, but for now I did only food. I guess I will be doing ti gradually, while I am watching TV or something, lol. It's not that difficult. I took a look and your photos look awesome on there, When I am all set after retirement and have the time I will sure think about settignup onthere, I guess doign it slowly and steady a few at a time will be the way to go

Thank you so much, it means a lot! And by the way they did not approved one of my photos, but the fact that all the other ones were approved means is quite success so far, lol.

And yes, you should definitely set up an account there. It is not that difficult to add photos to gallery. You can do more than one at the same time, if it's the same theme. They will love you 😊

The graffiti are amazing, what a sight! I really like the black and white one with the orange punch, nice touch. Of course I'm a big fan of okudart (the triangular colorful wall) The work is so well constructed, we have a piece in Edmonton 4 storeys tall. Thanks for sharing! xox
