Wednesday Walk: Along the River Bank

I have always wanted to walk the banks of the Sacramento River.

There are walking trails closer to downtown Sacramento, such as the popular 5.5 miles Sacramento River Trail.

This area of the river along California County Road 22 is about 18 miles away from any of the established trails.

I had to contend with parking by the side of the road because an old baracade and sign prevents vehicles from closer access to the river bank.

It is a walk down to it, which is perfect. It is #wednesdaywalk, after all!

I don't have a "proper" camera. I am using my iPhone to take these photos- an old iPhone 6.

The ground is sand...

and most of the ground surface is laden with dead leaves and grass.

I think I am the only soul here. There is not a single person for as far as I can see.

Who planted these trees? For sure it was God through the wind and the birds!

I think this tree is dying. Sad.

What I enjoyed most in this walk is watching the river flow gently along.

Where does this river end? I will have to find out!

The Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by @tattoodjay. I am grateful for his encouragement for me to join this challenge.

😊I hope this post will bring you smiles!!!😊

Hugs and Kisses 🤗💕💋!

I am so glad I did it, and thank you for your encouragement. I also received a great tip from @melinda010100. Hopefully, I will do better on the next one. I really had fun on this walk. And because it was a quiet walk, it provided me the opportunity to think some, and made some positive personal resolutions. Thanks again, @tattoodjay!

One thing with Wednesday Walks, the main thing i ask people ot do with it is have fun, so I dont think there is a need to worry about doing it better for two reasons, its a great walk post, and secondly, don't put pressure on your self just get out and have fun with it :)

Well then you did what is expected by me you enjoyed your walk so thats a win in my mind, and since photography is a hobby of mine, I will give you a bit of advise someone gave me early on never compare your photos with someone elses, just enjoy taking them and if you keep taking them then compare with your photos from a year or so ago and see if your happy with how your changing your style, and that's something I have stuck to

A big thing with photography is not the camera but seeing and framing shots how you like them and you did that very well with these shots ;)

Glad if I can help in any way and that said if you ever have questions feel free to ask

The only silly question is the one you never ask 👍😎👍

I do have a question, my friend @tattoodjay. I don't know if you know... but I am a stacker. So in sharing my journey, I take photos os inanimate, blah stuff... silver and gold. So I just posted a few minutes ago. The photos I took for that post... I actually applied the 3 point principle. Please take a look at the photos and tell me if it worked. I appreciate it, my friend!

I saw your post and yes that's exactly right for the rule of thirds :) tI really like how you framed all those shots, but remember like all rules it doesnt always work for all photos so go with what feels right for you

One of my favorite places, if I can make the time, is the Burnaby Lake trails rain or shine on a week day. Spent a lot of time there doing the soul searching thing, praying, thinking, feeding the birds.🐦🦢
So it's not always, "It's night, dark cabin in the woods, I know how this movie ends." 🔪🌒

What is it with waters that make us think, soul search and pray....

Jesus said "From me flow streaming waters of eternal life..." there are so many biblical and extra biblical references as in many faiths of water symbolized in the washing, purifying, refreshing of the spirit more than just the body. I know God has hardwired us that way.

It was a lovely walk. I was the only person in that large place... There is so much uniqueness and natural beauty in places that are not man-made and "unplanned" spaces. It is amazing! Thanks for the visit, my friend! Take care.

I am so glad I took that walk. It is unbelievable how taking a walk brings about a clearer perspective on things that are in one's mind. I just know that I came away with great resolutions about some personal matter after that walk! Have a great week, my friend. Take care.
