wednesday walk to the park in search of the ducks

In this post I am combining two photo challenges again: #wednesdaywalk hold by @tattoodjay (in December I skipped two or three weeks in a row, pretty sadly!) and #featheredfriends hold by @melinda010100

I've got some nice pictures I am happy with, and not too much story to tell behind them. In brief, we have a typical London winter, snowless and rainful (I could use a little more fogs, tho... but there isnt any). So, a few days ago looking at the window, I saw a Huge Winter Blizzard, a large flakes of soft snow fell densely from the sky to the ground in large quantaties. I suggested my babygirl to put on the dress, and in 30 mins, when the blizzard have ended, we were off to the local park (equipped with Canon 5D camera, and I chose Sigma 50mm lens for that day...) Also, we equipped ourselves with a loaf of white bread -- there was an idea to find some ducks at the park and to feed them. This was also a little trick / excuse to lure my baby outdoors.

But getting there, we could see only a vanishingly thin layer of snow ... in some places.

wed_7384w.jpg
We checked three ponds to discover that ducks have been gone away... probably on their ducky business. But they left some deputies - sparrows and tits. We didn’t have food for the latter, so we bypassed the feeders and left some bread crusts for the sparrows.

wed_7388.jpg
Basically, I photographed two things: feeders, and drops of water left hanging on the branches instead of snow.

wed_7396.jpg
...and the lichens -- ofc I could not simply bypass such splendid editions.

wed_7392w.jpg
This simple feeder is created by means of utilizing a milk or yoghurt packet. A very efficient technology! These packets are strong enough, durable and water-proof. The only contra is, they are very light and too much hang out in the wind.

Another family in the park, feeding... themselves!
;)

wed_7410w.jpg
Very intresting, strong and powerful feeder, build...vhmmm... from an old lamp, I guess.

And the last one. One more view at the Cinderella's carriage: not so convincing at the daylight hours, heh?

(Edited)

my pleasure!
my grandfather used to say (about me, and children in general): 'One cannot push you outdoors to go for a walk, and one cannot pull you back in afterwards'
most children in the world have some same internal features implemented :))))

Wonderful photos from your walk. And how nice that you had treats to leave in the feeders for your #featheredfriends! Those reflection photos are fantastic. Do you know that if you use the code
< br > (with no spaces) at the end of your photo link it will create a space between your photos? Maybe it's not important to you, but just wanted to be sure you knew!

hmmm... what?? it is very important to me... don't it look like for you the same way, as for me? I attach a screenshot - this is how eSteem displays it to me, and Chrome browser is doing the same both thru steemit.com and steempeak.com). there are blank intervals between all the pics. is it the same on your end?..

Hmmm. This is what I see using esteemapp.
The new app will be out any day, so maybe that will fix spacing issues.

It may simply be a spacing issue for the app and it may change with the new version that is coming out very soon.

ps. when my baby was a bit younger, at some point, she became a real maniac for birds feeding. we often were obtaining white bread or crackers especially for this purposes. well, now this passion became more medium-sized... life have so much other intresting opportunities to suggest for the baby... so many temptations! hehe

Reflections on the water turned out gorgeous, pity the ducks have moved from the ponds. Your daughter did not appear to mind the outing looking at the bird feeders @querrie
