Attempting to "spike" watermelon with whiskey

I first saw this trick in The Irishman and the idea is to spike a watermelon from inside by cutting a round hole on the surface of the watermelon and then pour alcohol into it.

If done properly, the watermelon will absorb the alcohol and is going to be absolutely awesome for your parties.

In my attempt to recreate this, I used a small watermelon and a small bottle of whiskey. Both items cost me 500naira.

Findings:

  • The process is usually drawn out and protracted. I suggest you give it like 24hours.
  • If you're trying to recreate this, you should let he watermelon and alcohol spend like 24hours settle.

Shouldn't smaller pack a bigger punch once it all in? A bigger one has more flesh so I think maybe the extra sugar and juice helps also. So long as the end result is drunk then allll good.

It's better with vodka though. If it all goes in, yeah, you're going to get fucked up for sure
