Ask users to create back up before creating an account with obyte

Components

My suggestion relates to the back up section of the obyte wallet.

Proposal Description

I have used obyte wallet at the time when they generously airdropped obyte to steemians. I had a few bytes left in the wallet which were to be unlocked only after one year. I had somehow deleted the wallet so I installed it again and signed in with my steem account only to find that my funds were lost.
I know that we can back up our wallet if we scroll through the menu but obyte is a wallet and the first thing they should ask users is to create a back up and not let any user use the wallet without back up.
There are plenty of other cryptocurrency wallets which ask users to create back up first and like them obyte should do the same. Alternatively they can also send the backup via a file which can be saved locally.

Benefits

  • Prevention of funds being lost.
  • More secure wallet.

Many users lost their funds because of this. It should have been been implemented by now, not sure why they are delaying. However, I do hope that they will implement it soon.
Mock-ups would have been really useful here.

#utopian-io has been a gift. We would like to keep its curation-efforts alive here on 'marlians.com'. We want to curate and reward 'contributions to open-source projects' with MARLIANS on the the marlians.com tribe, a SCOT-enabled steem condenser. Contributions can include suggestions, graphics, bug-finds, code etc. You can simply add in #marlians to your #utopian-io posts and it will appear on https://www.marlians.com/created/utopian enabling you to earn some MARLIANS along with steem/sbd. You can also post directly to steem via 'marlians.com'. We have some overseers who curate and who can render you help too. You can find them enlisted on https://www.marlians.com/created/utopian
