Introduction

This is an update for June 2019 for the new Steem accounts. Then a closer look will be made on the account’s activity, rewards, balance and delegation received. The post for May 2019 can be found here.

Based on this, an effort will be made to allocate the genuine users who are active and not rewarded. They will receive a small reward in form of SBI units, delegation and liquid STEEM. The end selection will be done manually from the pool of accounts that meet certain criteria.

It is an effort to try to contribute to the community. We all know that starting is not easy. A small push is very much welcomed. It is a nice when someone finds you and rewards you without you asking for it.

Accounts creations in June 2019

Below is a chart of the number of accounts created in June 2019.

2.png

A total of 9,468 Steem accounts were created in June 2019

Compared to May 2019 when this number was 12,874, the numbers are quite small. This is a month with the lowest number of accounts created in 2019. It seems that at the moment Steemit Inc have run out of tokens for creating accounts.

Here is the number of accounts created by month.

x.png

Who created the accounts?

Below is a chart for the account creators.

3.png

Steem created the most accounts with 63,1% share. Next is Oracle-D and Steemmonsters. Steemhunt, Blocktrades and Partiko are also in the top creators of accounts.

The Steem account is creating less and less accounts in the previous two month and because of this their share has dropped from 80% in April to 63% in this month. This is the reason for the drop in the accounts created as well.

Accounts Distribution per Number of Posts

How active were the new accounts? Do they got rewarded for their activities?

Below is a chart of the number of accounts and how much they posted. The accounts are grouped in 7 groups.

Comments are also included in the number of posts.

4.png

A majority 72,6% of the accounts that were created in June didn’t posted at all. An 8,2% posted only once. The rest of the accounts share around 19% are in the group that posted more than once. Their distribution is shown on the chart.

Comparing the number of the accounts that didn’t posted at all, we have a small drop in the percent from May, when this number was 74,5%.

Accounts Distribution per Balance

Below is a chart of the number of accounts and their distribution according to the balance of the account. A note on the balance. The balance of the account is a sum of the different balances, like SBD, savings, vests, pending reward etc. A conversion is made on the SBD balance in STEEM. The final balance is approximate and not totally accurate.

5.png

A majority, 72,5% of the accounts created in June have 0 balance. An 18,5% have balance between 0 and 1. The rest of the accounts share around 9% are in the groups with a balance more than 1 STEEM.

The balance doesn’t include the delegated STEEM that the accounts usually get when created.

Posting and Balance Dependencies

I will search for Steemians to reward mainly under two criteria. Number of posts and balance. At the end I will go through a pool of accounts manually and try to find the ones with quality content. Let’s see the dependencies between number of posts and balance.

Here is a scatter chart on that.

6.png

I have limited the axes between 10 STEEM and 50 posts, since the majority of the accounts are in this range. As we can see there is no correlation between posting and balance. Actually, there is a lot of accounts with zero posts but with some STEEM in the account. People are using the accounts only as a wallet.

Top 10 new accounts with the largest number of posts

Here are the top 10 accounts created in June 2019 and had the biggest number of posts.

NoAccountPosts

6@sonki999.aaa123
7@hgn66119
8@drhoofman119
9@mr72bussi114
10@aekraj110

From the past analysis and this one, I can tell that usually the top posting accounts are some services on steem, that are making a lot of comments. There are some accounts like that above as well but there is some genuine ones.

Top 10 accounts with the biggest balance

Here are the top 10 accounts created in June 2019 and have the biggest balance.

7@sharkstudio6,984
8@sbdstorage5,943
9@alpacas5,561
10@loganma5,336

On the top are the accounts from the Steemcoinpan @sct community. They are obviously getting serious about their project with a lot of STEEM powered up.

Searching for Steemians to reward

As a criteria for activities I have used something called adjusted posts per day.

The number of posts of each account is divided by the number of days the account was active. This is done to compensate for the accounts that were created in the beginning of the month and had more time to post. A simple number of posts would give them a favor.

Next, this ratio is adjusted. For the account created in the first 10 days of the month, the posts per day ratio, is reduced by 30%. The accounts that are created between the 10th and 20th of the month, don’t have adjustment, and for the accounts created in the last 10 days of the month, the posts per day ratio is increased for 30%.

Filter for the new accounts:

  • accounts with adjusted posts per day ration from 0,5 to 1,
  • balance between 0,1 and 1 STEEM.

This filtered out 40 accounts. Here is the scatter chart for them.

7.png

No obvious dependencies in this group as well.

Like mentioned above I was looking for accounts that are active but received almost no reward. I tried to find them and reward them as much as I can. Not asking from them to come to me. It is a special feeling when someone finds you and rewards you without you asking for it.

Next, Manual search

I checked all the accounts above manually and decided which one I will reward. I was looking for a genuine Steemians creating original content. Not something special just an everyday life thing.

I’m noticing that the range that I’m using is producing less and less accounts. A couple of months ago there was more than 100 accounts in this range and now it is down to 40. I may need to reconsider it in the future.

The rewarded accounts

NoAccountReward
1@ramirezreinaldo6 SBI, 30 SP delegation, 2 STEEM
2@ripirate4 SBI, 30 SP delegation, 1 STEEM
3@silesius30 SP delegation
4@vncm20 SP delegation
5@shabuben15 SP delegation

Congrats to these Steemians and hope you will grow fast!

These Steemians will receive an automated upvote from me for the next month as well. That is an approximate 0,03$ worth now.

The delegations are for one month and then they will be delegated to new users after that.

Delegations:

The query used to get new account information was:

Select *
FROM Accounts (NOLOCK)
where
(created >= CONVERT(datetime,'06/01/2019')
AND created< CONVERT(datetime,'06/30/2019'))

Thanks it's had its ups and downs in the past month. There's been a few good days I do get help from a couple nice people and that has been a big thing but it can get frustrating at times. I had a blog that I put content on for many years so I've been able to post a lot because I have a ton of content saved up. But at the same time some of the better quality stuff never gets seen by enough eyes. I work with a lot of law enforcement agencies and I put a lot of life saving advice on here that just doesn't get read as much as it should. It seems at times that people who already have a ton of Steem and are doing fine get airdrops galore but the people that actually need it get nothing so it's been tough. I'm hanging in there though I post a lot of photos as well that I take while on teaching engagements. I'll hang in there I'm not going anywhere. Thank you for the follow and for your advice I appreciate it.

Based on what you just said, @psg3196:

You cannot just write your own posts and get found here when new. You need to fit your content into contests and challenges so other people will see you.

There are many odd things about this place, not intuitive if you have blogged elsewhere. I am a weight loss coach and was just like you when starting; posting all kinds of good content that got nothing. Only when I learned to "fit in" to the system did I start to do better.

You can't look at the other people getting rewards they do not seem to deserve. Put the blinders on about that since it will only be depressing. You have to make your way here, and that is a losing thing to pay attention to. There is too much else you need to do to worry about that.

Oh i will be fine i just have moments but i get over it. I do want to clarify one thing though. I do not begrudge anyone for the things they get. They got those things because of the time and good work they put in. They deserved those airdrops or they would not have gotten them. I just meant that when you are new sometimes on that climb there seems to be few rungs on the ladder missing. But i am fine as i mentioned i am here for the long term. Things are slowly taking shape. Joining discord has helped lately as well

Hi @dalz

Thank you for this contribution to @utopian-io.

It's interesting to note that Steem created 7/8% of the total number of new accounts in June when compared to May - are the other interfaces picking up new members, this looks promising and I hope that retention levels are up due to this.

Slightly more accounts have a balance on their account compared to the previous month, and slightly more have added some form of content. I am encouraged by this also.

Thanks again for your contribution!

Thank you for mentioning me as the 9th place on the most posts.

I thought I have been posting too many articles, but wow how much has @hodolbak-aaa wrote...! 716 posts.

I don't understand that language on that account, so I checked out the second place @psg3196

I begun to follow him, because we're almost the same age. I'm 47 years old now.
And I got a tip to start taking daily pictures from him.
Thanks and I'll be doing more posts from now on.
