Flora of Southern Utah Part 2

avatar

A month ago I blogged about the Flora of Southern Utah after my trip to Utah in April. Now I want to share picture of the flora from my trip in May.

More and more I have seen how I gravitate to plants...especially taking pictures of them when I am on vacation.

And one of my favorite plants are trees!

I think I got this love of trees from my father. He was a wood worker and could look at a tree and see type of wood it would make.

Here is a funny story. We were in a cemetery, as a family, and my dad told me how great one of the trees was. Later I saw him talking to the sexton or grounds man. That man later commented to me about he was afraid my dad would come back and seal the tree. He really was enamored with the tree and saw its potential.

I don't always think of the desert as this green!

Flowers

Spring is a great time to be in the desert as many of the plants are in bloom!

Random plants along the way

I have really come to love the beauty of the desert....in the 13 years I have lived here.
