20k Power!

I still remember the time back on Steemit when I first hit my goal of 500 steem power. I finally had that stupid bar to customize my vote strength. Super exciting. A sense of achievement. I would probably kill back then to have 20k power. After all, steem was at least 1 usd a piece back then. And I was a silly pleb.

My next goal was 1000 sp, then 5k and then I remember saying to myself that if I ever reach 10k power I was golden. Here I am, twice as that.

And it feels...meh. Not because the price of HIVE is dirt. Mostly because I feel this place has no vision and no bussiness mindset. I look at LEO and what it has achieved in about a year with a much smaller community.. And just one person essentially (@khaleelkazi) behind the wheels.

And then we have HIVE. Even something as simple & stupid as monetizing this place with ads (and burning hive or whatever to establish a price floor and some hodling motivation/mentality) but for whatever reason @blocktrades doesn't want it as he has stated. Probably the peakd guys as well, judging from the luck of...well...ads. After all, this is a social media blockchain first. And social media sites make money from...yep, ads.

Hopefully the rise of tribes and HMTs will save this chain from oblivion. After all, @leofinance and @cryptobrewmaster seem to be doing well and already have onboarded more projects/businesses than Steemit sinc did in three years. I guess the same applies to splinterlands but I know jack shit about them.

Who knows.. At this point I dont care much. I will keep selling my liquid rewards for other crypto, hodl my earned HP and pray for the best. What I won't be definitely doing is buy hive and power up. Maybe I will miss the opportunity of a lifetime at these prices. Yet, I know I will have no regrets. Even buying BLURT feels like a more sensible option at this moment. At least they have some fomo going with all the upcoming listings.

What do you think? Is there a light at the end of the tunnel?

For some reason I seem to go the other way and since I have joined Steemit and now moving to Hive. Powering down STEEM allowed me to buy some ETHEREUM at good prices at it was still decent, so I had my pill of liquidating everything as I got something out of it.

Now with HIVE, as with any project at the beginning, there is still hope and probably I will continue to power up. Also @taskmaster4450 has some good expectations about the HIVE future (https://leofinance.io/hive-181335/@taskmaster4450/ealcnhzr), thus I am still hanging to it. And to be true HIVE is for me like the second layer token, while LEO is the main one :) so we'll just let it grow, it doesn't cost me anything.

It's always magical when we set target and we hit it I remembered hitting 10k once and it was a beautiful feeling now look at you, a Leo whale and a hive dolphin. I can't believe you beat me to 20k by the way I'm 19.7k not far behind. We need some champagne to celebrate

People want to be rewarded for their time. Create abundance and they will come. Don’t listen to the user like Steemit and down the toilet it goes. I’d give Hive some time.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel of course, and as I have already commented on some other post on leofinance, I consider that HIVE is currently dipping thanks to people selling it for WLEO.

Regarding to leofinance I am kind of late to the party and don't know much about finances to be honest, but the project seems legit, has perspectives, and looks quite organized and user friendly. I also read that in comparison with Hive as a whole, if you can make that sort of comparisons, LEO is rather centralized. Well... you know what, I don't give a shit.

As long as the centralizing power is doing a damn good job I don't mind not being decentralized. Look at Steem and how many of us were yelling decentralization proud of what we were and what we had and how screwed it got. I said it multiple times on my posts and will say it again, human consciousness is not yet ready for full decentralization, it's simply too immature.

Regarding your HP: congrats! I am not into powering up though and I might be an egoist motherfucker for simply milking and not giving much back, but I do prefer making my rewards worth something palpable. It's crystal clear for me that I am and will always be just a content creator in here and don't plan on changing that any soon.

Hence all my rewards get to my personal wallet for personal spending. I consider highly important for anyone around here to decide exactly what they're offering and expecting from the blockchain and their preferred apps. In my case it is an easy, joyful and quite rewarding way of monetizing my ideas, my thoughts, my hobbies and ultimately my almost daily shared shit. That's my approach towards Hive and its few dapps that I use.

Thanks for welcoming me to leofinance and for the upvotes. Much appreciated.

I will be there too by the end of this year. I guess I will not be happy enough to celebrate it too...
Let's see what LEO can bring us!

Congrats man ;)
Steemit sinc lololol loved the name branding of it ;)

The add revenue could have done so much over the chain of HIVE. Just what we are seeing on LEO in quite an achievement (add revenuw), just imagine what could HIVE could do with those add revenue. If and only If!!!!!

hahahaha... those were the days... And a lot of truth in his post. I think you say what most people think...

Well, it's a milestone, right?

I think you express what a lot of people are feeling... "meh." What I observe is a lot of people spending so much time "worshiping at the High Altar of Decentralization" that they forget you have to somehow make things work. LeoFinance works not because someone discovered a rainbow-pooping unicorn there, but because in @khaleelkazi there is structured leadership and a sense of direction and purpose.

People generally don't invest in rudderless ships, no matter how magnificent they may be.

In the meantime, I plan to continue blogging here, and letting my HP balance slowly build... maybe one day it'll turn out to be worthwhile!

Well, as I've said before, I know nothing about money and have a poor track record in investments. I'm certain you will be rich one day, because you keep at it and are fastidious about your investments. You may be right about Hive's future. But I like it here. I power up whenever that opportunity arises. Too many roadblocks to buy crypto in the U.S., so I'll have to get it by blogging and interacting. (That's like forcing me to eat ice cream and pastry 😄)

Congratulations on your 20K. You earned it!

LeoFinance should just create their own blockchain and stop using this cesspool.

I think times have never been as as exciting for this blockchain as they are now (maybe in first six months after mining started).

Finally progress is being made, progress beyond someone rehashing beautiful theories and compiling them in a nice whitepaper but zero evolution.

SMTs? 2017.
Well they will finally happen.

I hear you on the ads part but at the same time ads work with a “central operator” like on LEO. Ads can make a dent and can contribute to build and pay awesome teams but in the overall picture they won’t make as much a dent as people always think. They definitely won’t get rid of the weak hands.

Sure, they would be great if used for marketing. But even better would be an ads market integrated in the chain, where users get their own share based on ads viewed on their content. But that would be a super intensive and costly development. One for which we currently just don’t have the views required and are eons away from still.

In a niche like finance, crypto, or tech (gadgets) they would work. And they could contribute to team growth and later also user acqui. But they’re not that big as many think. @khaleelkazi had the right vision tho: build services (leopedia, hivestats) then add ads. I would even go further on Hivestats and Leopedia and open those display units to Hivers/Leo to bid against and promote their own posts.

Even buying BLURT feels like a more sensible option at this moment.

if you think HIVE is a bad investment at this point, let me tell you the stories of other Steem forks:

there are no stories to tell.

Wish there would be an exception. But

there are no stories to tell.

Definitely that's the truth so far I have seen.

Congratulations @trumpman!

Vision and business mindset are essential to grow and move to a certain direction. Having a great product is always great, but the fact is, you cannot reach to your expected level without marketing - reaching to your target audience.

I don't mind the underlying price, it just means I get more HIVE for my posts, i always 100% power up so in the nominal gains in HIVE I am winning :) It helps me get closer to my goal of reaching 50K one day so I am enjoying the price drops

Congratulations on hitting 20k

It still feels good to me to hit these goals, so I feel sense of achievement for you also. I use to take a snapshot of my Steem wallet every Sunday and make plans for what to do differently the next week. Steem was 4$ then and I like you thought I would never get to ten thousand Steem Power. But eventually I made it, Steem 0.015 cents, so its not as exciting as I had envisioned, but Leo is a bright spot and shows that it pays to be diversified and the community is very important.

I must admit I always thought Khal had the smarts and work ethic to make Steemleo successful back in the early days and I loaded up to 20k Steemleo, and even bought miners, which I regretfully sold. I am posting and curating now and continue to feel Leo is a good investment and the community is great.

Thank you for your contributions getting Leo listed, it benefits us all, so your work is appreciate.

Enjoy the day and celebrate your 20k
