3D-Modelling: Gears - AutoCad SpeedDesigning

Hello Hivers!

I have another catered design for you today. This time, I made a 3D model design of a gear. As shown in the sped up video, I created 3 gears in connected motion. I didn't find this too difficult to create but sometimes I get frustrated in finding the exact numbers of teeth suitable for a 100 mm radius pitch. But with the trial and error I made, I got the best numbers of teeth with the given teeth size and circular pitch.

The video is sped up for about x10 so as a requirement, I made a step by step procedure as shown in the snaps below.

Autocad Functions I used:

  • Basic functions like Line, Circle, Move, Copy, etc.
  • Intermediate functions like Explode, Array, Subtract, Union etc.
