Hive: Exodus to the land of Milk and Honey! On Steem the fight continues!

Today we had a landmark announcement of the Hive blockchain launch, a true win for the Steem community which has suffered centralisation and uncertainty for weeks since the #SteemHostileTakeOver by Justin Sun of Tron.

I am writing this post to tell you my thoughts and allegiances regarding Steem and Hive.

My Support of HIVE

After weeks of fighting against the centralisation exerted by Tron on the Steem blockchain, by waging war against this travesty on Twitter, Steem blogs and private chat channels, I am relieved there is a place my fellow Steemians can go to seek peace and escape from the dystopia of the events that recently unfolded on Steem. I will be proud to join everyone on Hive and will continue to operate my witness on the new chain and always fight for what is fair and just. Hive will be my new home where my Steem family is safe and I will continue to defend them there.

We have had talks within BuildTeam and agreed that we will monitor the growth of Hive and will offer support for the HP delegation on https://dlease.io Digital Asset Leasing as soon as it becomes economically viable to do so.

BuildTeam will also add Hive to the GINAbot version 2.0 roadmap, so all Hive users can continue to receive their beloved notification service.

Continuing the Fight on Steem

Steem has been my home for a better part of 4 years, it isn't something I can easily let go of. I believe in fighting for one's home and the people in it, call it nostalgia or naivety, leaving behind a wasteland does not quite sit right with me. The ultimate opulence scenario for the Steem community would be if both Steem and Hive prosper and grow in value, many families around the world will benefit greatly from an appreciation of their investment on both chains and will hedge against the tough times ahead in the current global pandemic each and every one of us face.

BuildTeam will continue to run Dlease and GINAbot on Steem as long as it remains economically viable to do so, in order to support the existing community.

I will continue to run my witness on Steem and continually strive to gain back ground against the illegitimate witnesses on Steem. I will use Hive to unleash my creativity and to escape from the war on Steem, after recharge I will regularly return to battle for our former homeland and hopefully help take back Steem for everyone and help transform it into what Hive hopefully will prove Steem can and should be like.

Taking back Steem will not be easy, I ask and pray for anyone who feels the same sentiment to join me and continue the good fight and secure a double win for all. It may take months or years but it is possible as long as there is a faction of Rebel Separatists left fighting for the decentralisation of Steem. I invite all communities to help take back Steem, including the Korean and @proxy.token alliances to join in and do what is right for Steem. I hold no judgement of past allegiances and ask only for a united front into the future to take back Steem. Honour and Liberty are above all most important.

@thecryptodrive, Without any doubt Steem is our Virtual Home 🏡 and we will not going to leave it until this Battle is over. In my opinion Hive Blockchain is sounding as Strategic Point Step to empower the Decentralised Governance where no Centralised Mined Stake is available.

Let's see how things will work out. Have a great time ahead and stay blessed.

yeah I wondered what will happen to Steem now. I guess most people are powering down now? If so, then it doesn't look good for the "real" witnesses of which most, actually, are leaving for hive. But I will definitely hang around Steem as well to see what happens

I think I just hodl on both if we win steem back the coin could explode. If Justin keeps doing what he does it probably goes to 0$ and hive coin will will increase.

if you got both coins you are hedged..

Looking forward on minnowbooster and steemvoter to be on the hive. Hive on!

Wait, aren't we supposed to call them hivevoter from now on? 🤪

lol maybe hivevoter, our priority is dlease and ginabot, steemvoter may come after. Minnowbooster upvote bot won't follow, bots aren't popular anymore.

Dear @thecryptodrive

Thanks for sharing link to your publication with me.

I've been trying to figure out what to think about entire situation. In my opinion - neither Justin or most old witnesses aren't to be trusted - and it's just power struggle.

Regardless, we're all going to be affected in ways we cannot yet predict.

Personally, I care to learn how many people I know will move to one chain or another. To see who I would lose if I choose one option or second one. Probably I will try to maintain my presence on both chains.

Yours, Piotr

I personally will be staying on Steem and helping out at Hive, it's the perfect opportunity to have abundance from both chains. I think the witnesses did the best they could under the circumstances, we tried to communicate with Justin but he kept on putting out his own PR agenda against our wishes and did not come to the table to discuss our concerns of the stake voting on governance.

As much as Steem was home to many, we need to fully support Hive for it to take root. Personally, I don’t have the time to support both (assuming that I am not just duplicating posts on both). At times it’s hard enough just keeping up with the posts as it is! So for me, it will be a clean break, a little housekeeping to clean up what I leave behind, then moving forward without looking back.

See you on the other side!

I look forward to building an alliance with you and making Steem great and decentralised so that it also will be a chain to be proud of.

I think going with the developers and a large chunk of the community is the way to go. The Steem blockchain has had a negative name to it for a long time, never mind poor recognition due to being so close to the gaming platform. Shedding the name and old stake is the best path forward. Justin can have his tiny community with no developers.

Yip you aren't wrong but don't underestimate that there are many devs out there willing to work on Steem, Splinterlands and Steem Engine for example cannot easily retool for Hive.

I want to know what happens to our earned Steem funds if we move to hive? . It will be in the hivewallet? ...the balances that's there which can be withdrawn that too, apart from the balance in wallet that can be used to power up and down?

Yip you will have exact mirror image of the Steem, SP and SBD that you have in your Steem account, you will access with same keys on the new UI.

Well I think if dlease can operate on both chains it will be proof of an awesome use case and whats stopping it from expanding to more chains or people being able to leaveage EOS or ETH and lock it up with dLease to get delegations and bring more collateral and value to the chain.

Ideally, I'd love to see a dual chain approach for most dapps as splitting the user base and making them choose is going to just make things harder

Dlease is built upon microservices technology and can be retooled to add any chain and even NFT and game asset leasing, it is just a matter of funding. Dlease will be on Hive very shortly.

Hi @thecryptodrive

My thoughts on the new community and that many now just want STEEM to go to hell have worried me a lot over the last 2 days.
I have worked with Steem in my own way and have supported many since 2016 and can't just let something I love go to hell.

As I read your post I became calm and I got a whole new understanding of everything. I thought all the witnesses I trusted disappeared from steem.

I will follow your advice and you have my support on both sides. Also from the investors I have brought to Steem.
Let's fight for freedom

I will always remember this day March 20, 2020 for it is also on my birthday March 20

I share similar worries @xpilar

ps.
I wonder if we will witness and large stakeholders will dump their STEEM right after airdrop on new HIVE chain will take place

The truth is, that if old witnesses will power down right away and dump their steem - then they may damage part of Justin investment and make him lose out little bit. But it's most likely just a small % of his porfolio.
At the same time all of us, those who invested their live savings into steem will suffer the most. Our investment will be crushed, without much of a chance to do anything about it :(

In my opinion blocktrades and other large accounts, who will build their fortune on migrating community to new HIVE chain - they should wait a bit with dumping their steem tokens. To allow others to do it as well. Just my 2cents.

Yours, Piotr

I dare most people with big accounts who say they should leave STEEM want to dump STEEM on the market. They want Steem to die. I don't think they will want to consider it

After many years staying at STEEM just pick it up and drop it? I can’t do this, I definitely support HIVE and will do my best to help its development. But, STEEM, as a first love, it is unrealistic to forget about it.

Dear @thecryptodrive

Thanks again for sharing your view on current situation.

Steem has been my home for a better part of 4 years, it isn't something I can easily let go of

Same here. Same here.

Did you expect such a huge price jump? Recent spike in price of steem has been incredible. Surely more than I expected. I wonder if we will experience huge crash right after airdrop.

Friend of mine suggested, that it could be Justin purchasing a lot on some of his proxy accounts. Knowing that he will get large amount of new HIVE token. Knowing also that witnesses will be powering down and trading steem to HIVE. So he could sell his HIVE tokens, earning quite a decent amount of money. Knowing that demand for HIVE token will be very high in upcoming days.

ps.
I wonder if we will witness and large stakeholders will dump their STEEM right after airdrop on new HIVE chain will take place.

Big dat and big achievement of enthusiast steemians. It reveals the strength and power of unity. Let's hope the same unity and passion will help to bring this community at the top position. Thanks to all great steemians and dev team who made this possible. Well done!
