Hola querida comunidad espero que estén pasando un estupendo día, hoy quiero compartirles un llavero realizado en un retazo de cuero espectacular para cualquier caballero, espero que me acompañen hasta el final del post para que vean esta ternura de manualidad.
Today looking through my father's things I found a piece of leather abandoned in a tool box, and also a piece of bicycle chain and I grabbed them without knowing what I would do with them, but then I thought of doing something useful to give it to my dad and I decided to make him a very nice keychain and can also keep the key and make it go unnoticed.
Hoy buscando entre las cosas de mi padre me encontré un pedazo de cuero abandonado en una caja de herramientas, y también un trozo de cadena de bicicleta y los agarre sin saber que haría con ellos, pero luego pensé en hacer algo útil para dárselo a mi papá y decidí hacerle un llavero muy bonito y además puede guardar la llave y hacer que está pase por desapercibida.
The materials I used were an old bicycle chain, a piece of leather, thread, needle, scissors, a key ring and a flat eye stone, a turning tool and a knitting needle to open the hole in the leather where the key will go.
Los materiales que utilice fueron una cadena vieja de bicicleta, un pedazo de cuero, hilo, aguja, tijera, un aro de llavero y una piedra plana de ojito, una herramienta giratoria y una aguja de tejer para abrir el agujero en el cuero dónde irá la llave.
Before starting to cut out the figure I want, I take the bicycle chain and with the rotary tool I cut some of the links that will hold the leather and prevent the key from coming loose.
Antes de comenzar a recortar la figura que deseo agarro la cadena de bicicleta y con la herramienta giratoria corte unos de los eslabones que serán los que sujetarán el cuero y evitarán que se suelte la llave.
In this step I proceed to measure the key in the leather and then I mark the desired shape and with the scissors I cut it as you will see in the images.
En este paso procedo a medir la llave en el cuero y luego marco la forma deseada y con la tijera recortó así como observarán en las imágenes.
Here I take the key ring and place it in the middle of the leather, join the two ends with the key inside and mark where I want the hole.
Aquí agarro el aro del llavero lo colocó en la mitad del cuero, unimos las dos puntas con la llave dentro y marco dónde quiero el agujero.
Then with the knitting needle I make the hole where I will place the bicycle link.
Luego con la aguja de tejer hago el agujero donde colocare el eslabón de la bicicleta.
Once the link is ready I proceed to close it with the circle and one of the ends of the key ring is ready, now the ring and the key are placed where it goes and we proceed to join the ends and close with the other circle to prevent the ends of the leather from coming loose and the process with the link is ready.
Ya listo el eslabón procedo a cerrarlo con el círculo y listo una de las puntas del llavero, ahora se coloca de una vez el aro y la llave dónde va y procedemos a unir las puntas y cerrar con el otro círculo para evitar que se suelten las puntas del cuero y listo el proceso con el eslabón.
With a thinner piece of leather we are going to make a strap to the key ring that will move up and down, it will go over the leather as you can see in the image with a needle and thread sew and cut the excess with the scissors.
Con un pedacito de cuero más delgado vamos hacerle una correa al llavero que se desplazará hacia arriba y abajo, está irá por encima del cuero como observarán en la imagen con una aguja e hilo se coserá y lo sobrante lo recortamos con la tijera.
Then to cover where the seam shows I will use an eye stone since it was the closest to the link at the bottom that holds the key and that is why I decided to use this flat decorative stone.
Luego para tapar dónde se ve la costura voy a utilizar una piedra de ojito ya que fue la más parecida al eslabón de la parte de abajo que sujeta la llave y por eso decidí usar esta piedra decorativa plana.
As I always like to show the final result I took several photos of the keychain with different poses. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did and that you like the result as much as my father did, to whom I gave this beautiful and delicate bicycle link keychain.
