Beer Tasting: Hobgoblin Gold & Yes Boss

Hello beer tasters! 🍺 🍻 😎 🍻 🍺

How's going these days? Good or bad? Or somewhere in grey zone? This epidemic has already become slightly tiring. We are all at home with us, the children have school through online classrooms and Zoom video conferencing, my wife and I are connected at our work via VPN and remote. It kind of goes, but slowly. And we're all getting a little nervous because we don't know how long this will last ...

Luckily, I still have enough beer. When I run out, I will start ordering online beer packages. Most craft breweries here have started to make this possible :)

Today I am going to try two beers I bought at a local Spar store

Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold

Brewed by Wychwood Brewery, Witney, England, GB. Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.5% ABV, four hops, two malts. Ok.

It's a nice orange color with solid foam, which quickly disappears. On the first sip and on to the end, I feel the bitterness of the hops and a bit of the sweetness of the malt. Although they mention citrus on the website I don’t taste it.

The beer is very drinkable, I would say great. To me personally, it feels like some classic lager, with bitterness and no other additives. I could drink it all evening. :)

Pelicon Yes Boss!

Brewed by microbrewery Pelicon, Ajdovščina, Slovenia. Few times awarded brewery. This beer is Pale Ale style, alcohol 4.8% ABV.

The beer is a clear, light brown color with some foam that fades quickly. The first sip is good. Discreetly bitter with citrus nuances. The bitterness of the hops is matched by the malt, which disappears towards the end. Only hops remain. Nothing is too much or too little. Balanced. Very good Pale Ale.

Both beers fall into a higher category if you ask me. Professionals with feelings. 😎 🍺
