"Beach Drawings" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

Hey Hiverinos, sorry for skipping my "sign-off" blog post last night, but my family took me WALKING yesterday, and by the time we got back to the hotel, I basically passed out.

WHAT HOTEL? My wife and younger daughter and I are staying a couple nights at a fancy place in Cannon Beach, Oregon. (I think it's called The Surfsand Resort.) Here's the view from the balcony of our room:

The large feature sticking out of the water in the background is called Haystack Rock. It's cool. I got some better photos of it from much closer this afternoon. (Maybe I'll show them to you someday, but this post is about drawing!)

We've been wearing masks whenever we're around people, and several of the local shops and restaurants are closed thanks to covid, but we're still having a good time.

After dinking around in Seaside, OR, yesterday, and then spending some time exploring Long Beach, Washington, today, we came back to Cannon Beach and FINALLY went to explore Haystack Rock at low tide. (I'm old and broken, so I didn't go all the way up to the tide pools, but instead sat in a lawn chair with my backpack full of cardboard and art supplies, and I worked on some drawings.

Here's the final products:

I enjoy drawing. Good fun. (I don't much care for walking in sand, though. That sucks...) Mariah and Ellie like it, though, so I try...

That's it. I'm tired as a SMURF now, so I'm konking out! I MIGHT share some of my photos tomorrow, after we get home! G'night!!!

I've been there! It's been many a year since then, though.
