Bird On A Wire Contest: Hummingbirds

My entry to the Feathered Friends Community contest. Check Here for more information.

Round two is opened with a new theme:

BIRD ON WIRE

I was lamenting the fact I didn’t have my camera with me when I saw an Osprey on a telephone line and then an eureka moment for the contest when Hubby said,

You have lots of photos of the hummingbirds on the clothesline.”

The hummingbirds have now gone South to avoid our winter. These are photos I had taken in the summertime.

The hummingbirds have faithfully returned in the springtime to the feeders at the back and front of the house.

This hummer lands on the metal foot rest on the feeder.

The hummers often rest on the clothesline when it is raining as there is a roof over the line. Hummer can not stand upright using their claws and like to have a line or wire to wrap them around.

The ruby-throated Hummingbird resting on the rim of the feeder at the front of the house. The prettiest hummers are the males and he prefers this feeder on the front porch.

hello dear friend @redheadpei good day
you are blessed to be able to have these beautiful birds in the garden, here they are not very frequent to see them, few days of spring and then they disappear
I appreciate very much that you let us know these beautiful photographs
I take this opportunity to wish you a great day

Thanks @kaminchan. ❤️ Yes, I do have a few photos of the hummers in the air. They are so quick it’s not easy to photograph them.

In a couple of weeks it will become spring and these lovely little birds will return to you and hopefully no hungry raccoon will destroy their feeder 😉

Lovely photos of the hummingbirds, Jo, good luck in the challenge 😊

Hannes, you remember all the feeders I had to replace that the rascal raccoon would tear apart trying to drink the sugared water. It seems nothing escapes the attention of the wildlife as long as they can devour it. 🤨

I look forward to the hummers return each spring. January is flying by, temperatures at 1 or 2 C most days and not much snow.

Thanks dear Hannes for good luck wishes, generosity and reblog.🤗

Have a wonderful Frigg’s Day.

Good morning Jo 😊

I am looking forward to new stories and photos about the Hummingbirds and the Raccoons which love the sweet content of the feeders.
I'd love to have such cute little birds around. They are so different from all the birds we have here.

Our morning is a bit warmer than yesterday - we have only -11 C 😉

I wish you also a wonderful Frigg's Day and weekend, dear Jo 🤗🌞

Good afternoon Hannes, 🙂

Yes, it wouldn’t be long before spring and the return of the hummers. Of course the rascal raccoon is around all year but I haven’t seen one for awhile.🦝

Thanks so much dear Hannes for your generosity and reblog. Much appreciated. 🤗

Wishing you a wonderful warm and safe weekend!

Thanks so much Dee for all your support and generosity ❤️

Yes, I had forgot about the hummingbirds sitting on the line until Hubby mentioned it. The hummers do move quickly and are difficult to capture in a photo.

Wishing you a pleasant Monday and good health.🌈
