Introduction

Greetings again my dear readers of this prestigious platform especially to friends or members of the community of Project.hope, in this opportunity we will continue looking for any machine, instrument or device created by our ingenuity in order to meet any of our needs in any area of our existence, highlighting as we have done in previous deliveries the vital link between science and technology for this purpose.

The idea is to try to know in a general way all the optical system that composes a LCD projector, this type of optical instrument any of us has been able to observe it or to use it in some moment of its life, in many occasions to make presentations in our works or in any house of studies to give our classes, also we have used it in our houses to manage to project images or series of frames that compose certain videos.

When referring to any optical system, generally, we will find the presence of lenses, mirrors and prisms, the purpose in this first delivery is to be able to be describing the particular optical elements present in a LCD projector, next you will be able to observe the elements present in this optical system in the following figure 1.

Figure 1. Optical system of an LCD projector

Figure_1.JPG

In the previous figure 1, they could observe the components of the whole optical system of a LCD projector, where, they could observe a mercury lamp, flat and dichroic mirrors, LCD panels, prism and a lens which allows to project the image or video on the receiving screen, therefore, in this opportunity we will describe in a general way the mercury lamp.

Mercury lamp

This type of ultra high pressure lamps has a magnificent technology which allows them to be extremely efficient due to its high capacity of illumination and also for its long period of durability, for these important characteristics are implemented in modern LCD projectors, also highlighting that the technology of these lamps allow better performance properties in terms of colors that are required to project on the screen receiver.

Conclusion

It is important to point out each of the technological applications in each device that is at our side generating a type of operation, and thus developing a particular task, this time we could observe each element component of a very complex optical system of an LCD project, in this first installment we analyzed the mercury lamps that are part of that optical system, and which initiates the process of transmission of light rays to the rest of the optical elements mentioned above in Figure 1.

With this article in its first installment we continue to highlight the great impact that technological applications have on our lives, as is the case of LCD projectors and the elements that make up its complex optical system, where our purpose is to get to know in a general way the operation of each of them and this thanks to the development of new technologies.

Until another opportunity my dear and appreciated readers.
