(Aleyrodidae) Another little monster that lives under the lemon leaves / Un altro piccolo mostriciattolo che vive sotto le foglie del limone.

On my terrace as the most assiduous of my readers will know, there are many lemon plants and with them a multitude of parasites that inhabit them. A few weeks ago I showed you the famous cochineal, today always with a lemon theme, we move to the Aleyrodidae.
I think he’s currently one of the smallest insects I’ve been able to photograph.

I’ll give you the same example as in the last post, the example with the 1 cent coin, which I believe can help in the comparison.

Here’s the last spider so you can compare them.

As you will notice there is a big difference in size, to the point that to get the insect the same size as the first photo, it was necessary to go from x2(10) to x4(10)and of course the quality of the photo is also lost. Keep in mind that to mount the camera in this way you need to remove the lens, so the quality of the images comes from the quality of the microscope beds, which in this case is not bad being a Kinos ziel.

But there is another important aspect: the loss of depth of field and with it of the three-dimensionality of the image.
This is due to the fact that the camera is mounted only on one of the two eyepieces, and being a stereoscopic microscope, the eyepiece lenses are aligned with those of the underlying lenses.
