Greetings to all needle artists and supporters!
Welcome to NeedleWorkMonday Community’s
113th Featured Posts!

This is a weekly curation showcasing the needlework of our very own Hivers.

Every Monday we get together to share our love and passion for the needle arts, posting from the NeedleWorkMonday Community and using the #needleworkmonday tag. On all other days we use the #needlework tag. We enjoy each other’s creations, ideas, patterns, tips and shortcuts.

Let us as a community, continue to show our love and support by visiting and commenting on each other's work while inspiring one another with the beautiful works of needle art that we do. Nothing makes a heart happier than to read a supportive comment from a fellow member!

Here are our featured posts this week:

Finally finished the sashiko mending on one pair of jeans! by @minismallholding

image.png

There are always clothes to mend and most of us hate it. We try to make it as invisible as possible - but that's not the only way! The Japanese technique of Sashiko is using stitching not to hide these imperfections but to integrate them in the embroidered pattern. @minismallholding made a long term project out of using sashiko to mend old jeans, turning them into a piece of wearable art!

Cross-stitching For The Holiday Season by @sarimanok

image.png

@sarimanok shows us how to combine different crafts to make beautiful decorations for your home or as gifts. From designing the motive over the cross stitch embroidery to using ribbons for the center motive and using fabric as a border to make a wall hanging or pillow case.

Biodiversidad de maíces peruanos / Peruvian Corn Biodiversity by @inici-arte

image.png

You learn so many things through needlework - I hadn't known that there are so many corn breeds. Then I remembered how many types of cabbage we have in Central Europe and how much we cherish it. @inici-arte not only tells us about corn, she shows us how to crochet it. And the little corn cobs are so cute - you could use them for decoration or perhaps as an ear ring.

Tapabocas navideño / Christmas Mouthpiece by @carolinacardoza

image.png

I think all of us with a sewing machine made masks this year. And we tried to "pimp" them, make them cute or festive. The year is coming to an end and for a lot of us that means the countdown to christmas. @carolinacardoza shows us some beautiful masks made with christmassy fabric. For this pattern you don't need a lot of fabric, so dive into your bins with leftovers and see what you can find :)
